bose sub question

UCH, to be clear, you are saying when you listen to the radio vs. cd's there is a bass drop? I have that happen between my ipod and cd's. are these cd's burned or originals? It may just have to do with the recorded volume. I can't provide expert analysis as I do not know that much about it, but that could be a possibility.
 
Sorry for the vagueness. Let me elaborate: When listening to radio and cd's (burned + original), i been noticing bass absence where i no longer can hear the bass. The bass fluctuates at times. I am guessing that the bose bass in the trunk might be the problem.

I doubt it is sub problem. Try higher quality cd ;-) and make sure kbps is higher than 128 on your audio files. Or better if WAV
 
Actually it does sound like your sub is starting to go. Generally the small factory Bose amp inside the sub goes out and can be replaced pretty easily if you can find another one.

It does NOT sound like you are talking about loss of bass due to a recording type. You are saying that the SAME recording will have bass sometimes and maybe the next time you play the same song, you will notice the bass is gone during some parts?

If the fact that you are using compressed music like MP3s makes the bass sound bad, you can fix that with an aftermarket EQ or bass processor like the Epicenter.

thats is correct jumbosrule: same track on a original cd have bass loss at other times. I was just thinking about purchasing used bose sub. would that solve my problem?
 
Have you tried listening back under the rear floor pull. Put your hand on it to feel for vibration. If it's not working you should be able to tell. Listen popping or distortion. That would prob happen first before cutting out. Kinda sounds like a loose wiring harness or wire fiber break somewhere in the factory amp feed for the sub. Hopefully your stock amp isn't going bad, that would be the next step.

Thank you. Just discovered the harness was loose. Urgh. I feel so obtuse. The sub is working now. Thanks for your input.
 
It's your factory amp inside the subwoofer that is the problem.
It can be fix, I have the same issue and got my fix few week ago.

check your connection if that didn't help then its the subwoofer amp.
I got my fix for rather cheap, well cheaper than buying replacement or aftermarket amp.
