Hey guys new to the scene just got my first infiniti. Had a few nissans in the past. Anyways been searching on this site(love it) and another but cant seem to find the info im looking for.
First of I love car audio and just came from driving a older car which i did an complete aftermarket system to.
What i would like to do in the fx which is an 05 with factory nav. No overhead monitor. Sound system is completely stock except for the isimple module i put in for my ipod and android phone.
Thing is i have allways just replaced all bose components and went completely aftermarket in my nissan maximas. Easy stuff no problem.
With the fx i would like to keep it pretty simple(if thats possible lol).
1.) adding 10" sub and 800watt amp (easy)
2.) adding front components in all doors front tweeters will be high in A pillar. Back in doors by handle. (easy enough)
3.) want to power components with aftermarket 4 channel amp and run all wires from speakers to amp. Going thru grommets also.
4.)Tap into speaker output from radio, before bose amp. Connect RCA leads and run to equalizer input (eq will be in center console).
5.)use front, rear, and sub from eq to aftermarket amplifiers.
6.)retain factory bose amp for all factory dash and D pillar speakers to still function.
Of course i will be removing the factory sub. No need with the 10 and epicenter

Get an audison bit one. It's the only real solid option if you are going to drive aftermarket components with our crappy stock deck.

Even just eliminating the stock processor and running the factory speakers off the audison bit one, I bet you could get way better sound.

My recommendation would be just to rip everything to do with the factory system out including all the wiring and start from scratch, but obviously that's $$$$.

Yeah, you're better off not trying to keep the Bose amp for anything. Get an aftermarket processor and drive everything off of that. I swapped out all speakers/wiring except rear pillars and installed RCA's using a PAC AOEM. I bypassed the dash and D pillar speakers since they're not really needed. Also had 2 12" subs in a custom spare tire box and 6 channel amp. I could never get it sounding right because I was trying to get the Bose to handle it all. Eventually I gave up and just went back to Bose - aftermarket door speakers are still in being powered by OEM amp.

Long story short, I don't know if your plan is going to work. There isn't a good way to make a hybrid with the Bose system. FWIW, I used to have a 4th gen Maxima and big stereo with Infinity speakers powered by JBL amps (sponsored by Harman). Back then, I thought that setup was complicated because I had 4 amps (each front door component set was powered by a single amp) and surround w/ center channel (15 years ago this was a big deal). But it actually was relatively easy because you could just get a head unit that could process all of it and slot it right in. With the FX, everything is integrated.

So either go all in and get the processor, or just add a sub and live with the Bose. I don't think there is anything in between.

Yeah i would love to do that. But not in my budget right now. Only a lc6 or 7 is. Eventually i will tear everything out and go all out with the audison or RF 360.3. But for now i just wanted to use what i have laying around collecting dust lol

Ok great suggestions. Yeah the maximas are cake 4th and 5th gens. I always rip all of the bose out and go aftermarket.
Just wanted to keep everything looking stock for now. I have to park on the street sometimes and dont want anyone seeing a aftermarket radio.
But in a few months i will be in my new house and i will have a garage to park in so i wont mind either doing a double din or single din swap

Well, if you use a processor like the Audison or a JL, that plugs in-line so everything looks stock. Speakers are obviously all hidden and so would the amps. There aren't any easy ways to put an aftermarket head unit in. It's doable but I think it's more work since you have to relocate things.

I understand that. I just wanted to use the equipment I had without having to purchase any new equipment. But looks like I will have to wait and get a processor first. So box and amp it is this weekend. I will wait on the mids and highs thanks for the replies

NOT MY PIC. Ok. Think this is what im going with and see how i like it. Have this setup in my 96 camaro
