I have a 2003 Infiniti FX35 AWD...

as the title states I need to either rebuild or get a used motor. I am having trouble determining if I can use a different year motor in the FX35. I understand I cannot easily use a RWD motor in a AWD. but am I RESTRICTED to a 2003-2004 only? or can I use a 2005-2007?

Yes, you can use the 2005 - 2007 engine in an 2003. My BIL replace his 2003 FX35 with an 2006 FX35 engine. He bought the engine off eBay and had a local shop swapped it in. The only issue that I heard was you have to use the 2003 engine bay harness.
