Block Heater Installation ?

Location
Alaska
Hi Everybody, I'm to FX35 ownership and I'd like to do something to this rig before winter sets in up here in Alaska. I need to install a block heater. Can anyone point me to more info on this ? I can't even see where it's supposed to go. Thanks, William

If your vehicle was purchased new in Alaska, I would think it came with a block heater.
I know all Nissans and Infinitis sold in Ontario, Canada come with block heaters.

your FX didn't come with a block heater!!! i thought that was standard for colder climates

Block Heater

Not sure if the Alaskan FX's normally have a block heater but this ride originally came up from Washington state. After quite a bit of poking around it looks like it goes in on the drivers side of the block. The good news, actually great news is that it's the screw in type. Don't know if you guys have messed around yanking a press in type freeze plug out of a block in tight quarters but there are about a gazzillion other things I'd rather be doing. So the screw out plug and screw in block heater is great news. The crappy part is that it looks like the exhaust manifold needs to come off to get enough room to work. It probably won't be too bad getting the parts off of a 5 year old vehicle and I'll sure rest a lot easier this winter knowing I've got one in there. I'll let you all know how it goes once I get around to it. Take care, William
