Blacked out the chrome in the back ! Also did the door handles!

Just blacked out the chrome with plasti dip. I was in a bit of a rush so i couldnt do as many coats as i wanted to. I also did the door handles. stay turned for pics of the handles tomorrow!

Ignore the little black mark! there's something stuck in my camera lens lol

Nice.... I did mine last year. The handles will probably peel from people pulling on them but they are easy to touch up. Also I always hand wash but the one time I rolled through one of those stupid washes it peeled a little back from a handle as well. The grille on mine looks like day one and the rear pieces look new too. Did the chrome along the bottom and the handles. PD is amazing.

IF you are losing the chrome altogether then you can use bbq grill or engine paint and do the exhaust tips.

I did my tails on my envoy with tinted clear (brother in law does body work on the side) When I sold the truck he took them down to the originals.. Ill have to ask him how he did it but it wasn't permanent. He works at a paint store so I am sure it was specific to what he used on the tails.. turned out good though.. would have to do some digging to find a picture of just the tails but you get the idea...

Looks sweet. I've used VHT nite shades, works well. My buddy works in a body shop and tints tails now and then. He just adds a little black paint in with clear coat and sprays them. A couple coats gives it a nice tint. The finish is smooth as glass that way. VHT works good too, just gotta wet sand after to get that smooooooth finish

looks pretty much like mine except i forgot to do the rear logo..now u need to smoke your
tails and your bumper reflectors for sure.like others have said...pay alittle more to get ur tails done by a shop..i did it that way
as well..well worth the $35 bucks i paid.

How difficult was it to Plastidip the chrome strips/emblems? I want to tackle this and the emblem this weekend. Thanks

Simple. Just tape them off and go nuts. The plastidip will peel clean from the paint leaving the chrome not so chrome. YouTube a DIY

I PlastiDipped the trim on the hatch and the doorhandles black and had my tailligts smoked out by a body shop.
If you don't want permanent smoked lights http://www.stickercity.com/smoked-tail-lights makes some film that's easy to put on with a heat gun.
Wheels are also plastidip. Top pic is matte black, bottom is Vintage gold.
