Blacked Out Headlights / No Reflectors

Yeah, it's a little nerve wrecking sticking $1k+ headlights into a 225* oven, not gonna lie!

End result is worth it, just be careful. Make sure prior to baking them, you remove ALL the little screws around the back of the headlight, including the one that holds the orange side marker in place. If they're not removed fully, you will crack some plastic parts trying to get them apart.

Honestly, after looking at the whole Hollywood007 thread, I will probably be leaving the car with the stock lip. I love how it has the uniform black going around the bottom, and it will tie into my white/black theme better (just like Hollywoods)

+1 on that. I like the black going around the bottom as well

Is anybody doing these for profit? I'd gladly pay or trade out to have this done. I've never done them and I'm not goi to try my first time on new $1k lights.

This is what I'm saying too!
still debating if I attempt it or not. LOL

Check out the forums at hidplanet.com They've got a section for vendors who do headlight work. I'd check that out before I got some random guy to open up and paint my lights. They have a feedback and review section as well so you can really do your homework and make sure you find someone reputable. I've noticed on lots of forums that guys come who start doing headlights; then when issues arise like leaks, bad paint, halos that fall off, they're gone. So if you're not going to do it yourself, find an actual shop and not someone doing it on the side.

I went through this debate a while back and decided to just crack them open myself to modify them the way I like. But I got a spare set for cheap so it's not as big of a deal. FWIW, it's honestly not very hard to do. But it's detail oriented and if you make a mistake it can be costly.

I'm loving the look of this FX. Get the front aero-lip though! Looks great with the wheels and other black touches...
