Black Suede Headliner

Just an update. I went around to many fabric shops where I live and they all had the wrong width of suede and said it would need to be special ordered. Also none of them were UV resistant with a backing on it. I said screw it and did a google search and found some reviews on this place:

I ordered 6 yards for now to do the pillars and other pieces to test it out first. I don't want to start on the whole headliner all at once until I know I got the feel for it. Not only is this suede UV resistant but it also has a foam backing on it! Can't wait to receive it!

When I sueded my 35, I just got the suede from a fabric store. I wasn't worried about UV light fading because I had full tint around the vehicle and it cut out like 99% of it. We used 3M 90 adhesive and careful hands to wrap all the pillars and headliner.

After I had the suede for a few months, I didn't really care for it. All the grooming you have to do to keep it looking nice. Plus wherever you look, it always looks like some stain or imperfection and my OCDness got to me. I like my current OEM setup, the fabric is kind of a textured/scratchy/mesh-like material.

Leather would be cool!

i think that would be very hard to wrap as it has not much play

How can the it get stained? Do you touch the headliner alot? If you groom it once you shouldn't have to again unless you touch it. I don't really touch the headliner. My problem with the current headliner is that I hate the tan headliner and it came with stains on it

Hey I have a question how did you guys remove the moonroof sunshade? I cant get the damn thing out. I removed the whole headliner already but I can't get the sliding sunshade out. It's the same on the G as the FX so I figured you guys might know or can help :)

As I remember, there are a clip at the end of the track. All you got to do is to remove the clip and slide the shade out of the track. You may have to loosen the entire track assembly as it my get every tight at the end because there not much room to pull it off the track. Really just examine what is holding it back and work from there.
