Bike rack or hitch? What's better?

I installed the hidden hitch with a Softride Dura 4 bike Hitch rack. This thing is rock solid. Anti sway, anti rattle, includes a cable lock for locking the bikes to the rack, a lock from the rack to the hitch, allows for hatch to be opened without removing the bikes, and lifetime warranty. Multi use as well for 4 bikes, 5 skiis, or 4 snowboards. Here's a few pics for you guys.

This brand looks awesome! I have been looking at different brands and not sure which on to get. I want something where i can interchange for bikes and snowboards.

It really is. And backed by lifetime warranty is an extra peace of mind. I did a lot of research before the purchase and to me this seemed the most versatile, best priced, easy to use and looks great. The snowboard and ski attachment are extra but it beats buying more than one rack. And it takes about 60 seconds to change the bars

I bought the Thule Apex 4 last year. I like it because it flowed with the FX aesthetically. It functions the same as the softride, but without the attachments, and the warranty was decent. Below, a video of one of our Chicago Crew meets where I have it on.

I like this style for simplicities sake. I've used the ones that hang by the top tube and hit the front wheel going over a rough section of road. I keep my bikes inside the car where it's safest though.

Awesome. I did ebay for the best price on the rack from an authorized dealer and I got my hitch from etrailer for a great price. Post some pics when you slap it on!

For sure! Did u install the hitch urself or had someone do it? How much of a pain was it?

I've installed a hitch on my old Tahoe and those trucks are super simple.

Did it myself with one other person to help hold one side up while I put the bolts in. Mud flaps and plastic covers have to be removed to expose the bolts you need to remove and replace. There's a slight cut you have to make in one of the covers to slide it back in when the hitch is in place to finish the job. If your handy with a torque wrench and have basic mechanical skills it should be no problem for you but definitely you need somebody to help hold it up with you. Took me about 2 hours probably cuz I had never mounted one before. I used two drive on car ramps. I just backed it up on to them and got under it. I thought about doing a write up but just wanted to finish quick

I installed a Hitch when i first got mine and have been using a Yakima Ace Hitch Rack. Nice and sturdy, locking feature, easy to put on and take off and easy levers to lower when needed.
