I just passed the thread on to the MINI group. I am sure you do twice as many MINI's in the same amount of time, lol.
the are half a car but each car is different. it all depends on the condition of the paint & how far each customer wants me to go with his car.

can you post up a link to the thread? i dont do any mini coopers lol. i thought about joining the largest mini forum but never got around to actually doing it. i have a few forums that im on that are dead so i guess i can take on just one more sponsored forum lol.

link me please, thanks

for the interior the customer just asked us to wipe down the interior to remove light dust, clean & condition the leather seats.

the bizzard kicked my ass last week but we were able to squeeze out a second big job. this was finished after the chrysler 300c that we posted a few days ago.

i got a few good before pics of the damaged clear coat after wash & claying. i hope you can see how deep the swirls were & the fine sctratches as well.
this is a regular customer of mine, he takes good care of his car but neither of us thought it needed this kind of work.
the after shots were taken after compounding with no polishing or wax applied just yet.

please take a look at the tight areas that were reached with a 4" orange foam pad & Meguiars Ultra Cut Compound (M105). for the larger parts of the car a 6.5" yellow pad was used. the car gets polished out afterwords with 6.5" & 4" blue pads & Meguiars Ultra Finishing Polish (M205). we give the car a second hand wash to clean up all the dust left behind by the compound & polish. an Absorber & leaf blower were used to dry the car followed by a fresh micro fiber wipedown with some spray wax to prep the surface to apply the wax. since the weather is still crappy out we went with a durable & thick paste wax. Collinite 476S Super Double Coat was the winner.

me & juan are about 33% done clearing out the back yard & driveway. theres about a foot of snow on the ground. the slush mix under the fluffy new snow that fell last night is making it easier to shovel. its kind of depressing that the most interesting thing i have to write about this morning is snow fall & removal lol =/

well be open tomorrow for anyone that is brave enough to drive here.

man i need to buy a snow blower or a crusty old 4 wheel drive atv & put a plow on it.

ill reply back to all private messages by lunch time. were taking a break from shoveling. i hope jerry springer will be on at 11am, the dam news report is blocking out the maury povich show lol.

im bored

i found these while going through old pics in my photobucket account

i couldnt tell you what was done but i did get some nice water beading shots =)

Jeff is a regular customer of mine. these are from about 2 or 3 years ago.

moved my speakers & hung my 1z Einszett banner today. juan cut & spliced the speaker wire & added some more line. he did a clean job tucking it in behind the sheet rock from the bathroom wall. hes a great employee, hes a "YES" man. whatever i ask him to do, he does it without talking back to me lol.

desk2.jpg

100_4092.jpg

i just have to paint the shelf i made purple, the same color as the wall. the budweiser sign was turned on for extra coolness lol. its not on during the day because it makes a glare on the tv.

as you can see i still havent sheet rocked the place. i have another project im in the middle of doing. me & juan are trying to build 2 combo shelf & storage cabinet units along the back wall. its hard when you dont have the tools & your working with a wall thats not 100% straight.

relying on home depot to cut the wood the same size would give the employees over there too much credit that most of the time they dont deserve. home depot sucks but were forced to go there sometimes, just ask nobody for help. that should save you a few mins of your shopping time lol.

the plan is to have my friend ned finish of the cabinets & square them out & ad doors. after that's all done & painted ill start putting money aside to sheet rock, prime & paint the ceiling & give the wall another coat of glossy white.
after that's all done i plan to add a few more 8ft light fixtures & the last thing on the list would be to tear down my half ass hand made desk & built something bigger & better. i want some peg boards to hang stuff up on & i need to get a tool cabinet. that can wait till the end of the summer, that's not really important for now.

so there you have it, the shop update as of today, Monday march 1st =)

with auto magic no. 17 ez wax paste & a brief history lesson of the clay magic surface preparation bar

Auto Wax Company, Inc. (AWC)

"More AWC Expansions
In 1994, AWC expanded its marketing efforts with the introduction of a line of products formulated for the body shop environment, Body Magic®. Also that year, AWC launched its retail program with Clay Magic®. Truly an innovator, Clay Magic® has revolutionized the reconditioning world with it's vehicle preparation clay bar."

taken from the www.automagic.com website & www.clay-magic.com

auto magic no.17 ez wax paste

auto magic is the company that owns the patent on the original clay bar since they are the first to invent the product to be used in the detailing industry. its called the clay magic surface preparation bar & it was developed in japan if im not mistaken. its main purpose is to cleanse the paint from industrial fall out in the air due to polution. it also removes light paint over spray, brake dust & light road tar when used properly.

other companies have to ask permission from clay magic & probably pay for the secret recipe so they can make theyre own clay bars. there are tons of clay bars out there but nothing ive tried yet has matched up to the quality & performance of how the clay magic bar works. it is a little bit on the expensive side when compared to the price of other clay bars & i can understand why.

clay magic surface preparation bar is the best out there. maybe they only let other companies know 95% of theyre original clay bar recipe? lol, it seems that could be true.

if they were the ones to invent the clay bar, i think they would know how to manufacture a great paste wax.

auto magic no.17 ez wax paste has no cleaners in it at all & no fragrance added in. its light yellow in color & very oily on the surface of the paint. its thick in consistency but when warmed up for 30-45 seconds it softens up just enough to go on silky smooth like melted buter. ts take off with a fresh soft micro fiber towel is almost effortless. it will produce a nice wet shine for any colored vehicle. with proper hand washing it should last 2-3 months.

ive been using this wax since i started detailing which was almost 13 years ago. its been a favorite of mine but recently i havent used it. there are too many different new brands of wax products being marketed online today its become unknown. nobody asks for it because they dont even know that it exists. im going to start using it again. i love the way it shines on a car when the suns out. i guarantee youll agree if its applied to yours.

sean has been here a bunch of times since his first visit a few months ago when we did a full clear coat correction on the car.

here are a few pics, we did the car some time last week but i cant remember the day.

1. sentra1.jpg

putting it on nice & thick. i dont believe in applying a really thin coat. what would be the point in applying wax if your not going to be a little generous with the product?
