Bi-Polar Cabin temp control problem

Hello, new member here, my 2008 FX 35 temperature control has recently started acting up. No matter what the ambient temperature, it blows full HEAT if the temp setting reads 62F or above. At 61F or under, it blows full COLD. I can't go anywhere without having to mess with the controls, toggling between 61 and 62. It doesn't matter whether it's set on Auto or not, nor whether it is set on Dual or Single climate zones.

Has anyone had this experience? Is there a known fix? - Thanks for any feedback!

Welcome to :iS2:

Not sure if the 06 - 08 has the temperature senor there or not, but on the 03 - 05, there is a temperature sensor on the right knee panel area. I would check to see it the plug is loose. If not just unplug it and plug it back in and see there any change.

I'll definitely check that out. Where would the passenger climate sensor be so I can check both? Just the opposite side of the console area?

this happens to mine I noticed, however I don't think it blows full cold or full warm. If I go over 62 I feel it getting hot in the car right away. If I keep it under 62 it blows cool air. I will also check out the climate sensor

I think the sensor by the driver's right knee was the answer. I had no idea what I was looking for, but I found a plug and a hose not connected to anything. Sure enough, connected both back up to the sensor, and it seems to work! - Now the concern is HOW did it get unplugged? I'm confident it didn't happen when I pulled the panel off, neither the plug nor the hose were loose when I put them back on.

Thanks All!!!

It had to be you when pull the knee panel off. Glad that works out. :good:
