Saw this thread on another forum and liked the stories that came out.

Here's mine:

My wife is sitting in the front seat of my FX. We're sitting at a red light and I look over at her only to notice some dude in a Honda hatchback checking out my FX. At first I think he's checking out my wife, but then I notice he's looking at the BBK and the NISMO sticker in the passenger side small window.

The light turns green and I roll forward, but glance forward in time to see all the traffic stop before getting to the intersection. The guy in the Honda still has his eyes locked on my car and I see him make impact with a Suzuki SUV in front of him. He turns quickly forward to see a tent-shaped hood and then he drops his head and shakes it slowly as I move forward and pull onto the highway after the light.

Causing accidents, I tell you!!!! It could have been my wife but since I don't know for sure, I'll give both of them credit for this one.
 
ha, nice to have a hot wife too :tongue: I had a guy in an fx that was turning into a bank parking lot & half way thru the turn he saw the front of my fx when I had the dual projectors in & a custom grille... he stopped dead & was just staring with his jaw dropped & came real close to causing an acident, brakes screaching & horn blowing kinda woke him out of his daze, was funny :laugh:

another time that was cool was when I dropped my fx off for some warrantee work back when I first got her... when I went to pick it up one of the techs came running up to me & seemed so concerned.. he wanted to know how the heck I got my dash with the 10" touchscreen, what did it come from & who did it... when I told him oh, I just built it myself he just looked so puzzled, he kept saying but no, where did you buy it from, who did the work... I told him I built it from scratch & fabricated the bezel myself by melting plastic togeather, he just refused to believe me... he was almost mad that I wouldn't tell him where to get something like this, was very funny, guess you had to be there though :laugh:
 
i was once filling up the gas and an FX pulls up - exactly the same as mine. same beryllium color, same evrth. a nice chick comes out and starts filling up too. all i say when i catch her eyes on me : hey, nice car!!! she smiles back ;)
 
john, you should bring your car in for an oil change after the motor is completed just to see the looks on their faces again and possible land a job with infiniti's design team :cool:

as for compliment... none really. Only time someone went up to me was a question about the redesigned 1st gen 20's.
 
when i came out of home depot one morning, i noticed a guy circling around my car. i asked him what he was doing and he said he liked the body style so much he was trying to figure out what model it was so he could search one for his wife. i felt very happy but that moron had too many questions for me that morning....
 
too many compliments...

my favorite are the ones from the ladies :wink: especially the ones who try to dip around on the high way, pull off the same exit, follow you to your destination and exchange numbers. that only happened once though....

used to happen to me all the time in my lifted Tahoe. I got a kick out of the time when i went to sell i put a FOR SALE sticker with my number on it, girls would call me while driving. The GF didnt think it was funny though

In the winter people write their numbers on my back windshield when it is dirty.... one time i called and it was a girl the floor above me that I didn't know (freshman year) lmao.....so awesome. my gf doesn;t like it either.... :tdown:
 
My wife and I were walking back to the FX after dinner one evening about a year ago when we saw a couple stopped on the sidewalk next to our car. The guy was practically drooling on the passenger window he was so close to it, checking out the interior, and the girl was standing a bit behind him obviously a little embarrassed. I don't think he had seen an FX before, at least not up close. Anyway, as we approached I clicked the unlock button on the key (which startled him quite a bit) and as he turned around wide-eyed he saw us and asked "is this yours?". I said "yeah", and in a sort of quiet tone like he was witnessing a miracle he said softly, "It's beautiful." I said "thanks" and we took off. He didn't move and was watching us for as long as I could see him in the rear view mirror. Sort of creepy in retrospect but flattering I suppose. That's pretty much the only compliment I've received on the FX, but get lots of stares and double takes when it's "clean". :tongue:
Our Audi gets way more compliments surprisingly. I think it's the wheels...
 
i got the factory 20's and people always think theyre like 24's or something. this one guys says ''damn man, your rims are bigger than my block'' theyre just dubs but people jock em'

:rofl::laugh: That's too funny. But honestly, if the FX wasn't such a good deal at the time I probably with a Cayenne now. No regret, I don't think I will tire of the FX body style, plus there are so many mods to mess around.
 
some people think my stock 20s are huge they think they r like 22s or something. alot of people look at my fx when im driving around. some have even looked at the infiniti scene decal for a while. that decal matches the fx perfect

Your not kidding about all the mods to mess around with :wink (2): i dont know about the Cayenne comment though. Maybe a 2011 Cayenne Turbo :cool:

But overall, I get many compliments about the color the most.
 
Best one yet! This morning on the way to Firestone for an alignment, saw and 09 EX in front. So pedal down and caught up to exchange thumbs up. Then all of a sudden, this late 50 yo guy with an oxygen mask on in a late Honda Civic that we passed a little while ago stop in the middle lane between us, roll down his window and remove his oxygen mask and said to me "smoking nice with a big grind on his face".

The Invidia Gemini caught many's attention too. A couple of bimmers have stop and ask what it is that I have under her. lol
 
Happened twice now....

A guy at the gas station was checking out my ride, and one day my next door neighbor came over to say hi and check out my ride...

BOTH of them said..."man nice ride, I've always loved LEXUS" :mad.::rofl: 2x's now...

I told my neighbor "yeah thanks, I like your Mustang too"....he's fixing up a 68 Camaro in his garage...lol
