Not too sure if this has been done before, but here goes.

Apart from the obvious which I am sure you'll all say FXs. Ars there any other cars that you folks wished never got rid of?

I'll start with mine, I wish I never got rid of my Morgan Aero8 with BMW 4.4V8, and my Ariel Atom 245 VTEC !! Love them both, and will buy again if I could.

Sick Atom....

My e46 m3. I loved that car but i did not drive it much.
My WRX that was highly modded
MY 99 eclipse GSX turbo. Super clean and that car was so much fun.

Not comparable to the atom but my first car: 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. Loved it

Was that Atom street legal?

They can be or cannot be. It really depends on how the user prefers to own and use it.
A lot of people use them as track cars, thus don't care about the street legal stuff. The big benefit of these as track cars is the relatively low cost compared to buying a performance street car and tracking it. They are also easier to work on based on design.
Fun toy - street or track!

As far as I am aware, all Atom owners registered their Atom for road use, and they all use it on road, and most take to track as well, of course.

Best overall car I've ever had was probably an '06 Lexus IS350. Didn't excel at any one thing, but it did everything really well and was really well put together. Unfortunately, it was totalled and the FX replaced it. Slightly more practical, but still not the same.

Best driving car is one I still have. Heavily modded BMW 335. It's annoying sometimes, but all that is forgotten when I'm driving it. It's a coupe so not practical but that sort of doesn't matter.

Weirdly the one car I really miss didn't do anything really well, it was a '97 Nissan Maxima. But it was my first heavily modified car and I owned it the longest. Still regret selling it, but at least it went to a friend. I just couldn't deal with it anymore. On that car, I went through 2 custom paint jobs, 3 custom stereo setups, 2 custom interiors, about 5 sets of wheels, 2 brake setups, 3 suspension setups, custom LSD, etc. Also went through a dry nitrous setup, then SC and dry nitrous, then swap to custom turbo plus wet nitrous setup. All of that led to a motor replacement. ~360whp w/o nitrous + 3100lb + FWD = scary. The torque steer plus turbo lag basically made it undrivable in anything but a straight line. Having said all that, I'm actually sad it's gone.

Wow nice Atom, car must be a blast to drive.

As for best cars...

Aside from the FX... 1997 Lexus LX450 (aka landcruiser). Thing is a tank, never got stuck anywhere even far north in blizzards with OEM tires. Other than the typical maintenance issues (i.e. A/C), it was a extremely solid car and took years of abuse. My siblings and I all learned to drive in it also.

Here's a quick pic from last month. We recently gave the car away to a family in need.

I of course love the FX but I gotta say that I'm now almost equally in love with the car I have temporarily replaced it with, which is my Mercedes R500... it is actually a lot like the FX in many ways, just stretched a bit longer with another row of seats but still sporty and not monstrously large looking like an SUV. it's more like the FX which is an SUV type body on a car like suspension, after lowering it it handles and rides very sporty, like the FX, it's silhouette is even very much like the FX, just a bit longer

I love the way it handles and I love the way it rides with the air suspension, and I love the almost 400 HP it has, the FX35 was just wimpy in acceleration but the R500 is a beast. I also love the fact that there were not many made at all, they only made the R500 for 2 years and not many were sold, and the general public either doesn't like them or doesn't even know it exists, so somewhat like the fX in the beginning at least, you just don't see one everywhere you look, and when people do notice it you get the same kind of "what is it?" type responses...

it reminds me a lot of the FX on steroids, but it also has a build quality overall that is superior in many ways and it has a lot of toys that the fX doesn't, about the only thing I hate about it is the panoramic roof, it's just very heavy and it's noisy and a big waste to me, that and the brakes really suck, but that is as easy to solve as just doing a BBK upgrade, same as the FX needed too :)

I've owned a lot of cars, some have been more roomy and some have been more sporty and some have been more luxurious and prestigious, but as an overall balance of everything I could want in just one car including practical enough to haul stuff other than just ass, I gotta say that the R is def one of my favorite cars of all time, FX is my favorite mid size where R500 is my favorite large car :)

I've always liked that car, tho I never really saw it as a "crossover" but more of a wagon. The fact that they stopped making them and only had a short run makes it more unique. Occasionally I see the AMG model and it really grabs my attention

Is it lowered John? Or oversize wheels?

a little bit of both, I used my original tires from my FX on it, 265/50-20's which is like 1.4" larger than stock, then lowered it a bit too

yeah, it's more wagon than anything else I guess but with a RWD based V8 powered AWD drivetrain. the AMG version is very rare, the rarest AMG, only like 80 R63's were made worldwide and 44 for the USA, seeing one is very rare. A friend of mine actually bought one new back then in 07, I was drooling, like 500 something hp $100k+ minivan man, crazy ride...

My all time favorite car that I've owned was a green '73 Porsche 914 1.7L. Too slow to get into too much trouble, but light and quick. Probably the best handling car I've driven. Just a purity to the drive. Loved it!

Not to bore you guys with old pictures but here is a little run down memory lane for the last six or so years of my automotive life. I think the best car I've had from the cars below was the C63. The 991 is a blast too though, so it may very well be a tie! Enjoy...
