BC Racing Coilovers for 2nd gen FX!

Ladies and Mostly Gentlemen...

you have asked for a great solution for coilovers since these springs don't seem to be working out in your favor ;) We NEEEEED a tester to come down to orlando FL so we can get these mass produced. When we say tester we believe its a combination of current infiniti parts that will make up an FX 2nd gen kit.

Bc is so excited to have one of you...they are giving away a FREE install AND 2 free tickets to disney! thats right, get your coilovers installed and take your wife, girlfriend or child to disney while its all happening or make a weekend of it!

No one else is going this far to make this happen. You guys have begged for springs but lets face it the real solution is coilovers. Please help us help you and have some fun in return!

thanks for having us here!

Best Regards,

Josh Nahm

good luck with this, would be nice if the second gen's don't have to wait years like the first gen did... one issue I think your going to have to deal with in particular is, the front suspension & alignment... I have an 09 in my shop with some suspension damage & the front suspension has NO wheel alignment adjustment at all, except of course for toe... once you can get this thing to drop 2" or more the question is going to be what happens to the alignment & then what can be done to compensate... I've got a situation with like 1* camber off which is requiring replacing a bent knuckle, but what will be done when the 2 front wheels are cambered to like -3* or so? drop is one thing, but if it ruins geometry then what can be done to compensate?

How about the springs? It is the same issue if the the drop is 1.2"?

I don't have a second gen but I've been watching the springs and CO development intently for some time. From my personal experience with the BC's on a 1st gen the dialing in opportunity of a Coilover set-up is unbeatable ( I have changed mine up three times). If you have 18's and go to 21's dial it in to fit, if you go to 22's dial it in, if you decide to run 24's raise it up. IMO The 2nd gens have a bigger range of acceptable wheel size visually than the first gens making CO's the perfect choice for your ride. If someone picks this up not only would you be getting a great deal but you be making end roads for the FX community at large. Someone has got to go for this!!! I am dying to see a 2nd Gen at the perfect ride height......

Wow what a deal, I am so tempted to make the 23 hour non stop drive down to Florida just to do this.

Do it! Rode trip

LOL, I was just telling my wife this, lot's of things would have to happen, I would have to take off my winters and blizzaks, I would kill them on the trip. I would have to get my 20 Enkeis out of storage and put them on.
Sooo tempting, but a lot of work (and persuasion to the wife)

Once the test goes live a lot of 2nd gens will be running these....23 hour road trip Wayne! I want to see the transcript of that conversation with the woman of your dreams......maybe not so bad though for a chance at some warmth right now.....

I hope someone does step up to do this... then we can get the alignment issue addressed.. I'm hoping there will be adjustability.

The coilovers come with camber plates as I would think like the first gen, I wouldn't worry about the fronts its the rears that would probably be the most challenging since there isn't any rear camber adjustments

no, that's the point, first gen is McPherson strut design, the strut determines alignment... 2nd gen no, it uses upper & lower control arms, the strut does nothing but just be spring/shock, has no bearing on alignment unlike the first gen... that's the point... it will require either custom control arms at the top or bottom at least, unless a camber bolt type thing can be made for it at one of those mounting points, would have to take one apart & see, but as they are, there is no adjustment from the factory & the strut itself can't adjust anything far as geometry... the new G's & Z's I believe are the same, I'd say research what there doing, I'd expect to see custom arms there but never looked really...

Well, I tried, my wife said it would be no problem in 4-6 weeks, but going on a looong road trip this soon after she had lung sugery would be too much. Stupid me :embarrassed: never even thought about her recent major surgery (By the way Lance we saw her surgeon yesterday and everything was ).

So I am sure there are some 2nd Gen owners down that way that should jump on this.

honestly I can't really say how much the camber will go out as it's lowered... the geometry is PROBABLY set up in such a way that the wheel will camber in at the top as the suspension compresses, this is to help handling in a rolling turn, well when you lower it's equal to the suspension being always compressed, because in reality it is, so that's why normally a drop will result in excessive negative camber... it can be a little off or it can be a lot, it's also usually progressive in that the lower it goes the more negative the camber will be... actual specs specific to this gen is not something I can guess at with any accuracy but I would guess that a 1.2" drop may not make it horrible, a little more negative camber can be a good thing for aggressive driving, but, there is a point of diminishing returns & of course tire wear is always a concern too...
