BC Coilovers on the way: rubbing concern

I've received notification that my coilovers have officially shipped. I'm concerned about rubbing with my current tire size (285/40r22). I haven't seen anyone riding BCs with anything larger than 285/35. Thoughts?

I'd be more descriptive but my internet connection is absolute crap and I only have my iPhone.

I rub on the back only on 285/35/22. I don't know my offsets either as DPE wheels do not disclose that info.

Do you run in the back without any load, only over bumps, corners, or is it a constant rub?

you are running pretty aggressive offsets on your car and if you lower on coilovers im positive you will rub even with a 285/35. are you rubbing on springs? how far do the springs drop? im pretty sure Rip rubs over bumps potholes etc only. but you can trim the black plastic piece on the fender and take out the fender lining to help.

I'm running stock suspension right now. I should've clarified that I had some rub only when I had 2 people riding in the back on my previous 3.7 with H&R springs. Really think that +42 is an aggressive offset?

Yeah 15 front, 20 rear. I was already thinking of going 10/15 instead.

I was concerned more about tire diameter.

yea 10/15 sounds good but its still a good idea to trim the plastic because you dont want those plastic piece being trashed and popping out. with a 285/40 it really depends on how low you go. i ran taller tires on my e90 on megan coils and i just raised the car by a just less than 3/8 of an inch and it was exactly like before. because these bc coils are adjustable you can play around with it a bit. got my work done at an amazing shop here in socal called west end alignment. any fellow fxers in socal should get their alignment and suspension work done here!

I rub pretty bad when ppl are in the car but luckily that's super rare as I'm always solo driving. I also rub on speed bumps or going up driveways. This the reason I said screw coils and went to air suspension as I can lift or lower whenever I want.

Hmm. Would you happen to remember what your coilover settings were?

Sounds like I have more control over the adjustability than I realized. I can probably get it right at the height I originally had with the lowering springs with a slight decrease in dampening. I want it to be slightly stiffer than it was with the springs, so in theory this should work out.

If you keep your ride height the same as it was before, the rubbing will be slightly less than before simply because the coilovers have stiffer springs. I wouldn't play with the damping to fix rubbing, compression and rebound damping are adjusted together so if you up the damping to help with rubbing, your rebound will slow down by the same amount and the car will ride like a brick. I did this for a while and it sucked.

I think if you roll your rear fenders, trim the plastic and don't go crazy with the drop you'll be fine.

You're on bags now??

Can anyone confirm that 22x10.5 +32 on 285/35/22 on Bc coils with a drop of 1.5-2 inchs will rub or not? And how bad will the camber wear be?
