BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

If the hardness lasts longer than four hours you need to adjust your settings =)

Added a 10mm spacer to the fronts and achieved Herra Frush, looks amazing...on the drive home heard my plastic fender wheel mounts burning off on a corner, not so amazing, dropping back down to 5mm on the fronts (starting a spacer collection now) Also now that the rear elevation has dropped camber pulled the W/T's in more than I like so they now need a push out, hmmm......going to try an alignment first with the rears.

So with now more and more guys riding this set i would like to know more experiances in how this kit rides....??
I have stock schocks with H&R spring and deff want this kit. How compared to my set up does this kit drive. There are probably few guys who already had ther car lowered with springs.
DO you find the ridecomfort harder then with springs. I find our schocks far the weak and wobbely. Do these schock improve this.
Or is it still weak and could a harder spring setup be suggested....??

HAS to be strictly monetary (which I totally understand) H&R's /Eibach's + install 5-600, BC's plus install 1,200-1,300 - BUT the ability to adjust ride height to fit a variety of wheel/tire combinations combined with the ability to adjust the dampner settings for ride quality is pretty much unbeatable. I have been adjusting my ride quality since I installed them and its pretty amazing. Takes seconds to make the adjustment and I can go from a FIRM ride to a comfortable ride.......My new tires have slightly shorter sidewalls and the ride is firmer, I bumped my dampener settings back 4 clicks and the ride is essentially the same....

Logan, Do you follow the mfg instruction when going from hard to soft?

Here are instructions from the BC manual:

-Direction H(HARD) is hard--clockwise--turning H to bottom is level 0
-Direction S(Soft) is soft--counterclockwise--turning S to bottom is level 30
-Setting of leave the factory is level 8
-When damping is adjusted, please follow H direction and turn to Bottom; then depends on individual demand to adjust S direction again
-When damping is adjusted, damping of shock absorber has to accord with left and right level; however, front and rear can be adjusted by individual need

To me that means if I am at "10" (from hard) and want to go softer, I have to go all the way hard "0" first, then adjust past 10 to 15 (for example). The directions don't say I am allowed to adjust from a 10 to a 15 without first going down to zero. Do you follow that process?

Yeah, don't really understand the need for the dampener reset process. It's just a couple of added seconds but I have been writing down my settings so I can remember where I was (or am). Would be that much easier to just click up or down.....

Out of curiousity where are your settings now?

these are the pics i was talking about.
I would LOVE to roll around like this...maybe a little bit lower.

(would want lower in the front....tuck the tire a bit?)

what's the verdict? I'm working on a photochop soon and using fxlr8's pics along with other vehicle to determine possible slammage

Might have to tweak your rear camber in to avoid fender well rub....

And the drop would look great!

That isn't that low. You are restricted more by your tire size. Jeff is much lower and it helps that he has smaller tires.

Fenders are already rolled in the rear haha...will probably take more camber when its lower...as for the front...tuck time. lol

I wish there was a facepalm smiley...:tongue (2):
BECAUSE of my tire size, I can only go so low. Thus, the pictured level for the rear is pretty much what Im stuck with, while the front can go down like 3" and will still be fine. lol:tup: I rubbed in the rear with only eibachs...had to roll my fenders.

edit: for the rear, I can probably do NO gap and be fine,a nd tuck the front a bit

My fender wells still rubbed when rolled and dropped hard, some extra camber pulled it in to where it wasn't a problem. The aggressive GTR offset has to beaten into submission! The fronts will tuck well, didn't go deep on mine as I was set on flush but I'd be curious to see how far you can squeeze them up in there.

Then why do you keep asking if these can go low enough for you? It's obvious they can and your setup is what limits the lowness you can achieve, not the coilovers.

Check out page 14 of this thread for a couple of pics....Right after that I bought two (actually three until I got two perfect wheels) more 10.5's and mounted up 295/40's all around so the drop has changed yet again. Dialing it back in again now. going to see a speed shop that does a lot of stance work to iron out my spacer challenges before I start a collection of spacers to match my GTR wheel collection....The BC's have been great, without the ability to adjust the ride height I'd be hosed =)
