BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

I had to do a double take on that too :confused.:... haha...

nice wheels logan...

I have a good eye today haha. On Mac rumors forums, one guy started a post with "Hi Gays" on accident. Must be the iP4 display that helps haha.

I'm not sure there is a lowest setting just because every tire/wheel setup will probably rub before the coil-over it bottoms out as low as it can go. I think the answer is, these coil overs will go as low as your particular tires/fenders will allow them to go. 20" wheels with 255/40/20 might rub where 255/30/20 could be perfect. Nice thing about the coilovers is that you can get right up to the hairy edge of whatever setup you happen to have. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Purchase with confidence! And excitement. The ride is sweet once you get the damper settings dialed in.

Didn't you see FXLR8 first pictures, that was pretty low. I thought I remember him saying he was scraping the front and bent his rear lateral bar. Based on that I think it will go as low and even lower than you want it.

Here is a more recent picture, I could still drop it another .25 in the fronts, and another .50 in the rear (lowest the coilovers will go), but I am scraping the belly pan on parking blocks and minor dips already. My wheels setup is a bit tucked and I run 275/40/20 tires, with the offset of the gtr rims and tire sizes I am pretty sure you will not be able to fully drop the coilovers to their lowest settings.

Dang. So nice

Rear brace....eehh, that fell off awhile ago..j/k. Actually it seems fine, just a little bent up, haven't hit it again since. Exhaust pipe now rattles off the brace occasionally, but might leave it on just to protect the exhaust pipe. I think the main part is just learning how to drive low, after driving the fx since 2005 I would just fly over things knowing that I wouldn't hit anything. After the coilover install, I had to learn quick to slow down on certain things and speed up over others. When I go over a speed bump I actually go over a bit faster so I don't scrape my mud flaps, only reason I do this is because they make a loud scraping sound and everybody always looks at me like I just broke something.

oh okay, i understand. Well if it helps, I had to roll my fenders with the GTR wheels on just eibach springs lol... My goal is just to have the fender "sitting" on the rear wheel and to have the front tucked a tiny bit, or ultimately to just have NO wheel gap. Fxlr8, do you have any more "recent" pictures from other angles?

if anyone with the bc's can happen to look at the numbers printed on the springs I'd love to know what the spring rate is that they include with this default setup... I believe it was said that the numbers on the springs correlate with the actual spring rate but was never mentioned what the spring rates actually are.

Yes, last 3 numbers on the spring number are the spring rate. Josh said he can get them made to your specific spring rate.

I believe the are 8 kg/mm front and 12 kg/mm rear.

Haha, drove over my first set speed bumps today at the new ride height of lowww.....good thing I had read your post Jeff, funny as hell, my install guy went for a ride with me to make sure everything (wheels, spacers, CO height) was good and we finished with a drive though a lot next to his with speed bumps. Shit was loud as we rolled over them and he just about came out of his seat "god damn, what was that!" made me laugh....need to come up with a shortened version of the flap, checking now to see if the poly material can be plastic welded. Just cutting out an inch or so and moving the curved finshed piece up to fill the gap would do it.
