BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

I don't mine messing with it a little as needed. However, if I drive to my friend to get them installed, I want it to be a one time thing. He lives far enough away to where it could get annoying. This issue could really make or break BC for us depending on how it turns out, but they have a great chance to show they are a stand up company. Best of luck!

Took out the car today and set it to 10 clicks from soft in the fronts and 15 clicks from soft in the rear. Very smooth ride, a little bouncy though, I think I got use to the stiffer feel so I set it back a bit stiffer. The one coilover seems to squeak a lot more in the morning when it is still cold, didn't squeak as much after it warmed up outside.

The right coilover hardly squeaks anymore, seems to only squeak when the weather is cold. Still going to swap out the upper bearing Monday.

not really... the factory top seat is cool because it is a rubber isolator & it uses a needle bearing seat to the spring to allow turning smoothly. overall this gives a lot of isolation to the suspension, great for comfort. a pillow ball mount is kind of like going with solid motor mounts, remove the slop but trade off comfort... the spring seat on the oe mount is made for the huge diameter stock spring so it can't be used directly, at least a new upper spring seat would need to be made to allow the coilover to mount with the stock upper seat, this is how I am doing the koni coilovers I'm building... the pillow ball is cool because it allows adjustment to camber alignment from the top strut mount, nice for a track car that may want to play with these adjustments between rounds but def a trade off from the comfort that isolation provides ...

Took off the coilover, replaced the top bearing and the squeaks seem to be gone. Of course I did not realize I forgot this little spacer until after I had everything back in:

Without this spacer it clunked when hitting bumps, so I had to remove the coilover again and put it back in.....all good now.

yay glad everything worked out for your with BC! You must be able to install the coilovers in your sleep now

Great trouble shooting. My strut bearing is shot too.

so overall, there are no issues with these?
Do your GTspec braces scrape?

I think this is next on my summer schedule after my GTR wheels...either this or fx50bbk....then I'm done until next year (need to save up for london)
