Need help, guys
I switched out the battery a while back cuz the old battery died. (at least I thought so)
With the new battery, after 2 days sitting in the garage. the battery would completely dead (can't even crank it)
Jump start, then it's ok. I'd charge the battery for couple days, then the car would be ok to drive. But then I let it sit in the garage for another 2 days, the battery drained again.

I made sure I did not turn on the "Accessories". Light switch is off the whole time. It almost seems like something is still draining the battery when it sits there. As I recall, the situation is very similar with the old battery, which makes me wonder if the old battery was still ok.

My radio has been having some minor issue where sometimes it would play, and sometimes it doesn't. Wonder if thaz related. Anyone ever encountered this?

Got it. I am gonna try that. Thanks

By the way, did anyone here has to change their radio at one point? I was told this "off-on playing" issue is quiet common for this model?
The factory wants 5k just for the radio

For that money you can aftermarket unit installed. Actually, that seems a more common solution here, than getting another stock one

What?! I was told thaz not an option for the 2011 model because they said the Navi / Radio / AC etc are all integrated in one unit.

It's not an option for you or anyone unless you plan to do quite a bit of custom work. But for much less than $5K, it can be done.

Hi, try using the diagnostic section and see if you have any errors.

How~~ do I do that..?

By the way, guys, the factory warranty (not 3rd party) is gonna cost me $5900, 5 yr / 60k miles. Does the sound about right?

Update on this topic in case anyone interested
Finally bought the warranty and then bring her in to get diagnosed. Turned out, the factory radio has an abnormal "open circuit" condition, which constantly drained the battery even when the car is shut off. Apparently, after a few research, it's pretty common for this particular model of radio/computer.

The dealership has ordered a new one and now we waiting for it to come in so they can install it.

I believe i have the same issue..

Everything is turn off. car is off.. when i play with negative born, it tick in the hood.. so something has to drain my battery..?

My sister had this same problem with her BMW. She took it to her mechanic, could find no problem but found out he never locks the doors (stored inside) found a short in the driver's side power door lock (actuator) that was killing her battery. Replaced bad lock, no more dead battery......(so far, and it's been 6 months) :good:

Did the replacement solve the problem? How did the dealer diagnose it was the radio? If you still have your receipt can you document exactly what the dealer noted upon inspection and advise what part number they ordered to replace it?
