Have a little problem, Just changed my battery today at Autozone, and on the way back noticed the Trip mileage resets everytie i restart my car. Also, backup camera is pitch black, and the clock on the dash doesnt change...Anyone know what could be the problem? thanks

Probably just a fuse. Check the ones at the battery and under the dash. Not sure which one controls these components.

They wouldn't pull the fuse to change a battery. When they pulled the battery, maybe they had one of the wires touch metal and shorted out one of your fuses. Check the fuses by your dead pedal, and in front of the battery for anything blown. There is another fuse box behind the battery, but those are generally for the Headlights and Foglights. You're going to have to check all the fuses to see which one blew, unless someone else here had had the same issue and knows specifically which one it is.

one more thing, check your turn signals and emergency flashers...see if those work

Ye everything else works fine, I checked everything...just those 3(clock, camera, and trip reset) components...also very curious as to why the trip resets everytime the ignition starts

found this on infinitifx.org :"Today I had the same problem, I went to Advanced Auto Parts to purchase a new battery on my 2005 FX35 and after the guy changed it, my clock, reverse camera, and turn signals from inside did not work. The guy swore he connected everything back and there is nothing else he can do as Advanced Auto Parts is not a service center so immediately i went to Pep Boys and the mechanic there said whoever worked on your car left the harness and fuse loose (fuse box by the VDC switch in driver side) and all he did was pop it back in and walla it all worked again! I went back to Advanced Auto Parts and show them them the receipt and the work the Pep Boys mechanic did and now Advanced Auto Parts will be compensating me for the service charge at Pep Boys since they did not correctly install the battery. Whew! did a whole lotta running around but I'm glad it was a simple fuse fix and getting that service charge money back.

Will check tomorrow if that is the solution. I'll go back to them hopefully they'll reimburse the service charge

So i went back today and they couldn't figure out the problem...checked the fuses, and all seem to be fine....going to run a diagnostic test tomorrow. I really hope i won't have to go to the dealer for this..

That's odd. Everything points to fuses but if you checked them all and that's not it, it's really weird.

Ye thats what i'm thinking, I just htink hes not sure what hes doing, cuz he didnt even know there was another fuse box behind the battery until i told him. Does anyone know which fuses are related to my problems(clock, odo reset, seat memory reset, and backup camera black)?

Brooklyn, take out the battery and check the fuse box behind. According to the .org, the wire harness was loose. Possibly caused by the battery hitting it while being installed. Just check to see if its loose.

Hi Brooklyn,

I had the exact same problem where I took my FX to advance Auto Parts and they replaced the batery and sure enough, my Camera and my dashboard are not working, the memory is out, the clock does not move, and the trip mileage reset everytime the car is turned off. I checked all the 3 fuse boxes and everything seems to be okay.
Can you please keep me updated on what you find out from the dealership.

From my understanding. I changed my battery while I still had the running. Thats what most of the mechanics told me when i asked them to change the battery for my fx35. Not sure if this is true or not.

thats what the dealer advices, i found out that if your car does not have the technology package it doesnt trip anything. Ive changed my battery twice (off) and did not do harm. But my dealer advised against this..

I experienced the exact same issue as Brooklyn following a battery change on my 2007 FX35. The clock, back-up camera, and trip reset (went to zero after every start) were not working properly. One quick fuse change fixed the issue.
For me, the fuse which controlled these (located under dash on drivers side panel) was labeled BAT ELEC PARTS. It is a 10A fuse.
