Barrett Jackson Collector Car Event

I love that show. In the last auction they sold a car I have been wanting for about half of what I thought they cost. I was bummed not to be there. Of course, my wife was quite happy I wasn't there :err:

There is Internet Bidding.
The people there bidding have bucks$$$ Most of the cars selling go for a hundred thou.+++:eek:
 
The one I was interested in went for $37k. It was a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe.
They are actually aftermarket reproductions by Superformance and Roush Racing.

For the internet auctions, you have to apply before you even know what cars will be auctioned. It's around $200 to register. I am cheap. I would at least want to know what is available before I dropped any money on registering.
 
Your right it would be hard to even know what your bidding on if your not there. Better to attend so you get a couple days to look over the cars before they hit the auction block.
 
I just watched some of this and its ridiculous how much some of these people are willing to pay for these cars. Recession?......someone forgot to tell these people! lol. Good stuff.
 
I watched some of that, there were some nice cars. Did you guys see the convertible Caddy ? 20 footer :err:, it was nice. But it's true, some people spend so much money there, Carrol Shelby's Cobra went for 5 mil. plus I think a while back.
 
Watched a little yesterday. Saw a car collector buy 3 cars with in 1 hour, spending over $370 thousand in that time....unbelievable.
