I just installed this product on my FX50. Note: You must remove the engine cover to be able to install it on the FX50. This one would install on the FX35 perfectly but the FX50 has a different bigger engine cover. I had to remove it to install it. Installed it and everything is find, I have to custom make the engine cover so that I can restore the engines look though the engine cover will go on TOP of the Strut brace and not the opposite. Overall stability increased. No increase in roughness as the FX50 is rough enough.

Holy cow that engine is dirty! How did it get so dirty? How many miles do you have?

Nice, but do you have the sport package? If you do won't it effect the adaptive suspension? (if you have it)

I just installed the strut bar on Fri evening on the 35. I must say installing the driver side was a real pain in the butt! Almost felt like those metal lines were gonna bend.

After driving with it installed, I'm not sure if its a placebo or not, but the butt dyno feels like it has less understeer.

And when i thought my engine bay is dirty!:tongue (2): The strut is amazing, i installed it yesterday and the car feels amazing!!!!
Just one question...The strut bur itself, rattles a bit in the mountings though i tightened it. Is it normal?
I'm just grabbing at straws but maybe is it vibrating against the AC lines on the driver's side

Did you remove the original metal pieces that were on the tower?

Or I guess sport mode on/off will suffice for me for now ;)

I luv sports mode on my50.. the truck seems to come alive when hittin them corners..

Yep I was afraid of this... with the engine cover off the engine bay on the 50 is (uuugly).lol You would think that GTSPEC would somehow raise the middle bar up a lill to accommodate the large engine cover. I'm gonna look into doing something along the lines as custom with maybe strut tower spaces.. we'll see. I just want to have the natural look of the 50s engine bay.

^^ is cutting the engine cover an option.. I've seen it done tastefully.

I dont know im not even in the states right now, but when i get back im gonna look at every opt.. the key is to make it look clean.. on the FX50 the engbay is cover completly so i have to figure how to mount the spacers and the struct bar.. with less cutting

you don't need to remove engine cover!!!!
i've installed it on my FX 50S
You just need to push it harder here is photo:

No need to cut the engine cover . Just place it back on top of the Strut Brace!

I have just replaced the engine cover after 10 days of laziness. I was thinking over these 3 days on how to cut the engine cover to replace it cuz as people saw, it looks ugly! And yes I am in Kuwait, sand storms during the whole year thats why my engine is all dusty.

Today I have replaced the engine cover over the strut brace without needing to cut anything or to put a lot of pressure. Simply hooked back up to the original place! check out some of the pics:

And yes, I have tried to clean up the engine a little bit :P

Yes I have the Sports Package with the adaptive suspension. I did not notice any problems with the adaptive suspension. The only thing I have noticed after installing the strut brace is improvement in understeer while taking turns or round-a-bouts or even while passing cars on the highway :)

I tried to PUSH and put so much pressure to fix the strut brace over the engine cover but then when the bar reaches to the other side (so that i can tighten it), it gets shorter and doesn't end up where the LUG NUT is supposed to go in. Thats why I had to remove the engine cover. It's either that GTSPEC has sent me the FX35 strut brace or mine shrunk during shipping :)
