AWD: Getting ready to drop the car - which setup?

Which springs do you recommend for my application and ride quality requirement?

So, I've decided to drop the car.

I've read on other forums that even though my car is AWD | X...I can use RWD springs without issue so.

I am trying to maintain as much of a stock feel in the ride as possible...so please keep that in mind. I'm not looking for an aggressive drop but will go low if it means buying a set of springs that are still comfortable compared to others.

That being said, please vote on what you would get if you were in my shoes.

My car is on 19" BE by Breyton GTS-AV wheels.
 
Not sure if this is an option but I say coilovers. Height adjustable, dampening adjustable, ease of installation...no spring compressor required. With the price of springs, plus struts and shocks, coilovers are not really that much more. After using springs and coilovers on my fx, I would never go back to just regular springs.
 
Why do you say struts and shocks? I know in the Maxima world it wasn't recommended to run springs on stock struts, but I haven't seen that in the M world. Do lowering springs prematurely blow the struts on the M as well?

I guess if that's the case then I'll just save for coilovers. But I definitely need to read up on what you're suggesting before I decide.

But since you mention it, which coilovers would you recommend?
 
Depending on the mileage of your car you would eventually need to upgrade the shocks and struts (around 50,000 is recommended)..so might as well do both at once when swapping springs. I used stock shocks and struts on my fx with aftermarket springs, ride was a bit stiffer but no other problems.

As for brands of coilovers, not really sure. I had BC's with minimum problems (squeak, which was fixed by bc), so I really have nothing to compare to. Good thing about BC is that they offer a free 1 year replacement warranty, after that year it is only $99 to replace any assembly if you have any other problems.

I think I'll take my chances...lol. I'm about to propose and will obviously have the wedding coming up so...trying to stay fiscally responsible but still enjoying my toys. lol.

If I get a set of Tein H-Tech's for $200 (or used Espelirs for $250)...and have a buddy install them for $300 (I have my own tools and lift/garage - but I HATE suspension installs) I'm still way ahead of the price curve of a nice coilover system.
 
Yeah I know they are...but spending $2-3k is a little more than I want. If there was a coilover set for $600-700 I'd do it in a heart beat.

I ran a nice set of springs/struts on my Maxima (Tokico struts and H&R springs) and the ride was just like stock but almost 2" lower. That's the combination I'm trying to find here for the M without breaking my bank. From what I hear, that would be the H-Techs.
 
I think Megan or even BC can have a set up for about 1,500.0

Hmmm...those Megan's look good and sound good from the research I did on them. Didn't even know they were an option. They are considerably cheaper than some of the other brands, but from my reading...many of them are made in the same factory.

I'll have to do some more reading...but we may have a winner.
