Automatic Liftgate

Hey all,

I was reading over my manual today on my 2010 FX35 and It says the car is equipped with a automatic closing rear liftgate. It said that I would only have to close it partially and the motors would do the rest.

Am I missing something here because my car doesn't do it. Is it an option or something?

If you close the hatch and let it rest against the latch gently, the motor will automatically pull it shut.

I read somewhere that Infiniti did this to save weight on the fx's. I really wouldn't mind a power lift gate though...I mean a 60K+ car without a powerlift gate and no blindspot detection?? comonnn!

Agreed manny, i dont know if it's true but someone told me that on the new fx's the trunks are made of fiberglass to save weight but i really dont now if that right.

i think it is cause magnets dont work on the lift gate

I wonder if there is a way to add that aftermarket. I use my trunk alot and would love to have a power liftgate.

I can confirm the fiberglass liftgate. It's true on the first gen models as well. If you ever do the wiper delete mod, you can see for yourself.
