Audi LED mirror indicator retrofit.

You are a genius. Best custom mod I have seen on IS so far! I thought my AUDI style LED lights in the bumper were something, but this takes the cake!
 
Oh yeah! Much easier IMO. Even though I had to do extra work with body filler to reuse my old covers and cover the Audi openings, still if this was a brand new project/cover, it would take less time and hassle. Plus the design of the Volvo one flows better with the FX.
 
well, my is new covers, so awesome... Do these come with all the wiring, or will I need to get some wires? I would also really appreciate if you could get the part #'s.... I saw your original ones when you made them, I loved them, but have talked to you about before, and it seemed like it would be a little over my head, plus I don't have extra covers, so have to be extra careful... this might force met to try
 
Exactly, and a lot of cars didn't get them till 2011 or even 2012, and some still don't.

On another note, kind of funny how the new mirror signals look a lot like the ones on Volvo, the exact shape I went with in my second revision :)

I gotta say your work is perfect it looks OEM. I am absolutely adding this to my mod list. Just gonna wait and build up my skill level first with other shit haha. But great job.

Thanks Adam, maybe now I will get enough courage to do this.... Did you need to trim mirror assembly with this Volvo lights (like you did with Audi)? Is it necessary to remove the whole assembly, or can it be done "on the car"?

Since my mirror was already cut up from fitting in Audi turn signals I don't remember what, if anything might be in the way, but definitely won't require as extensive cutting as Audi's. Probably just a piece of inner cover. I will confirm next week when finally finishing that DIY.

The reason for removing the assembly is to make it easier to run the wires from the turn signals into the car. I wanted to feed mine with the rest of existing wiring through the tube, but if you don't want to deal with the hassle of removing it all, you can run it on a side, through the weather stripping.

Not yet the client bought 20 inch winter wheels....22 inch summer wheels...my "old" H&R springs and Injen intake....new spacers, Big Brake Kit front/rear and invidia Exhaust and that all in just a few months so i'm keeping him busy LOL. But will come to that soon

patiently waiting for the volvo DIY, gonna be my spring project. Still have to figure out how to do the rear reflector LEDs too :disapointed:
