I've had a problem on my y-pipe, and I decide to replace it by kakumei.

OEM is sooooo expensive... and stealershop want me to pay $900 with OEM pipe.
Their labor estimate is $170. Is it reasonable?
I really want to find good localshop in Atl and North Atl area, but I have bad memory with poor localshop. Is there any recommended shop to replace y-pipe?
Is a dealershop best option?
 
Which dealership did you get the quote from? I can check around my area to see if there are any good shops. I'll check with the g35 forum guys for suggestions.
 
$170 is relatively reasonable for a dealer. Maybe just take it to an exhaust shop, they'll likely do it for under $100. I know of a few good shops in town, but most of them focus on bigger projects so getting them to just swap a Y-pipe may not be a good fit.
 
Its just a bolt on so really not hard for any shop to do. I personally would have went with the Ichiba Y pipe, but I think Kakumei is solid. What I did was search for 350z/G35 speciality tuners and found a couple in my area. Chose one and they do REALLY good work, have good rates and are so familiar with these cars and mods do it quickly.
 
Wow. That's pretty freakin' expensive

I paid 175 shipped for my kakumei from ebay and installed it myself. Took about 30 mins. including jacking up the car and jacking down the car.
 
I paid the local Midas here in NYC $100 for a y-pipe install. Took them all of 20-30 minutes. That included boring out the bolt holes a little bit for the bolts to fit.
