Went with the 22's and wow look great. Even got a comment from the manager at Discount tire on how good they look and was trying to figure out if I picked them or one of his sales guys.
So far short 8 mile drive home notice steering is light lighter (much harder with the 18's) very easy to turn more like a car. The Tires Yokohoma Spex X are very quite. compared to the crap Cooper Discovery I had
Will drive to and from work tomorrow and give further feedback and may even a pic

Naw, you didn't have the 22's on yet! No pics... is like you still driving on 18's....kidding. You know we all very interested to see pics. So post up!

Nice choice.

Now I have a question that is kinda related to this topic. If you were to go for lightweight rims, like the GTR's in 20's would they not be better than the stock 18's or such.

I mean the GTR's really dont weigh much do they? What is the stock weight of the 18" rims when wrapped in the average tire?

If you got a high performance 20" wheel like the GTR, yes, it would be better than the stock 18". It should be lighter and the lower profile tire will handle better. The stock 18"s run a 60 series tire, it's ridiculously tall. You'd sacrifice a tiny bit of ride quality, but other than that, no downside.

Pics immediately! I'm very easily swayed. I promised myself no more mods. But all bets could be off. I would be going with the same exact set-up as you except with the falken tires. I had them in the 20s and loved them. Great in the snow also! So pics! Now!

Arggh can't figure out how to add to my garage or upload pics so here is one for now (Is there abetter way to post higher quality pics ? because imageshack downscales it),
I got quite a few comments from coworkers today, even one guy asked if they are spinners, I was like sayyyyy what!!! :eek.:
let me know what you think I want to get my front grill painted to match the car next (all but the infiniti emblem)

Looking good there. I also like the way you park too  :good:

LMAO! Yeah the back of our building at work is empty so I take up 2 spaces. I told other people (My coworkers) that commented on my parking skills to bite me and I hate door dings they can go to hell!

Looking back at the picture on cloudy day these wheels almost look gunmetally or mirrory. There really black with etching but boy are they nice lookin!

WRX04sti,

Love these wheels! Your FX looks great with them. I just got my fx35 and am considering these as well. I went to my local Discount Tire and they wouldn't sell me the set up you have. The guy told me that the tires (285's) were too wide for an 8.5 inch wheel and that they didn't meet the weight requirement for the car. Did you get these from a store or online? Did you have any problems with this? I even had the guy pull up this thread and he still told me he couldn't do it.

Any thoughts from you or others would be greatly appreciated.
