AR Burns 22 inch

^^^ that is a feasible idea. But I've seen many lower quality ie cheaper 20+ rims for sale locally and they are NOT selling. but on the other hand even though the baller rims like HRE is selling they are selling for not even 50% of the retail price....

I'm sure I will have a hard time selling the AR once i want to upgrade, if i save up for a set of $$$$ rims those will most likely stay on the car till i decide to get rid of the whole car maybe even on the next SUV i pick up

I wish there is shops here locally like in Hong Kong where you can trade in your old rims toward new ones.

the best solution is somebody sell me their used set of HRE/iForged ;)

sigh. all these talk is making me seriously re think. On one hand I like the performance right now with the stock 18 but i hate the look...

Don't sit around and listen to all us idiots and go and get the ARs. If you "hate" the way your FX looks then you need to address it now and you will be happier. You can always get different shoes down the road.

thanks for the kind word bro lol.
I will be away in asia for a month or so, still have a month to think abt the AR or similiar priced rims.

Who know maybe after my trip i will be ready to pick out some HRE

now only if there is a economically way to bring back rims from HK/japan

when I got my fx I searched & waited a bit & got a nice used set of 3 piece lighter weight 20's for under 2K, sometimes good deals can come up used too. also you don't really have to go with absolute top of the line HRE's, there are other more affordable 3 piece forged wheels that can be pretty light, something like IForged's are more affordable, there are others too

if all else fails it probably isn't so bad to go with a cheaper set of heavy wheels, the difference isn't very huge, but then again the difference of an intake or an exhaust or a strut bar isn't very huge either, just so long as you now know & can decide what's more important to you, your fx will still stop & go just fine, & be stylin while doing so:tongue: I wasn't trying to talk you out of it, more to make sure you know the consequences though & can make a better decision for you. in the end there is a difference & it is enough to feel, how much do you care?

Although heavier, The 22s with lower profiles are gonna handle worlds apart from the 18s.

I like the Burns. It's gonna look great, & you're gonna save yourself alot of cash. Win win if you ask me.
Now, I like wheels like the HRE much better, but it really depends on your budget.

I'm hoping that before i decide to jump on the AR a set of resonable price used 3 piece rims would appear for sale. I've been keeping eyes out on the local car forum and craiglist, 22 inch for sale are rare. And I have yet even see 3 piece rims for sale over 20 inch :(

from my observation most local SUV with rims either have OEM upgraded rims (think brabus) or 22 inch cheaper rims..... bad if one's looking to score a used set like me.... good When i do eventually have a set of HRE I will pretty much be the only SUV on the road with them.

It sad when even big time known drug dealer in the area are rolling around in stock rims  (as if the bacon brother's bulletproof 7 series isn't baller enough lol)

20 inch especially with lips (thats like 99% of the rims out there now) looks really small when put on the fx imo......

I love HRE wheels, they are beautifully made. But one interesting fact is that I have come across more deformed HREs at my local track than any other high end boutique brand. And if you spend some time searching the web you will find similar reports from numerous car forums. Take it for what it's worth though...:dontknow:

Here's one of my favorite HRE wheels. P43s in satin black mated with PS2. A friend got these for his 996TT.

good taste bro. I love those too! My buddy has it on his m3, shit looks so menacing.
Too bad if doesn't give off the same effect on a big cat like the fx.

I have heard of HRE rims bending. But those horror story usually are heard on track day. The fx won't ever see a track and vancouver's pothole ain't that bad.

Does anybody even know that the 22" AR Burn will fit on an FX45? I've been told the 30 offset is not high enough for a 9.5" wheel... need something more like a 48 offset. I thought this sounded a bit silly... but it was supposedly coming for the AR Rep.

I want to go with the 22" AR Burn, 30 offset, with a 285-305 tires. Anybody know if this will work?

Thanks!
