while searching for the best deal for my head light replacement for my new 2010 FX35, I came across
VESTEC- Xenon D2R/D2S (Made in Japan) HID Xenon 6000K- Each Bulb
$50.00 at suvlights dot com
also Topspeed HID D2S bulb (Made in Japan) is onlsale on a website
I just wonder if anyone had tried one or both brand and any thought about them.

I say go philips. Just looking at the two brands (vestec and topspeed), both don't have the metal alignment detail that the OEM philips or the morimoto feature. Note: the DDM have the glass capsule secured with what looks like an epoxy, no metal detail.

what is metal aligment in the HID bulb?
is it important?

I may as well be the lab rat and try out these Japan made bulbs for everyone else.... :smile (2): I will post pictures when I have them installed
I am waiting for the rest of the LED light I ordered from US to come to Canada so I can install them all at once anyway....

Any Canadian installed HID in their fog light? as Canadian 2010 FX35 use the fog light as DTRL so I just wonder if any problem such as flickering on/off.....

Please don't buy those bulbs. I bought bulbs similar to that and my passenger side cutoff line of light was so sloppy and messed up. That's why you need the metal alignment thing on higher end bulbs like ones from Morimoto or Phillips. Without them the bulb is garbage. I bought the Morimoto bulbs for $45 for a pair from the RetroFitSource.com and couldn't be any happier.

Check out my thread here and read the whole thing. You'll learn alot

At first I thought the Morimoto bulbs weren't that great but now I LOVE THEM! My thread also shows comparison photo's on the second page about the difference between bulbs with and without a metal baseplate.
