Anyone think fx should come with bigger Brakes

The FX should have come with bigger brakes from factory? Like a 2 piston set-up in front?

I see all these CARS coming with 2 piston set-ups, and it's kind of disappointing me.
Do 45's come with 2 pistons?

I agree with ya - which is why I went with a stoptech BBK in the front. Upgraded rotors, pads and lines in the rear.

I also painted the rear calipers just for looks.

The front stock caliper has a pretty large piston, so the surface area and braking pressure can be the same or better than a different smaller cylinder two piston caliper.

IMO If your engine is NA, aftermarket rotors/pad/lines is all you really need for a decent upgrade. But if you have an FI engine... you should probably upgrade both front and backs rotors and calipers as well. More is always better, but you might not take advantage of the full stopping power of a front and back BBK. If you can afford it, you'll enjoy it...

Not sure about the 2009 FX35 brake design, but the FX50 looks to be more what you are looking for. You could do a retrofit - like another member did on IS. Do a search for FX50 brakes.

Humm, I could be wrong but I remember when I took the pads off to check out the brake setup, I noticed it was a two piston setup. I have a 07 Fx-35 awd. Is it possible that they changed the brake caliper on the later model year?

Yep, '06+ has beefier brakes up front and decent sized rotors. I noticed the two pistons when I was back there doing GTSPEC stuff yesterday and today.

I thought 03-05 also had 2 pistons at the front? You guys only have 1 pistons? How do you brake with that?

Wait maybe we have 4 pistons then. I'm too tired to go take a pic, but on the back side of the caliper it has two circles like when BBK have 4 pistons. Kinda like this:

I'm pretty sure about this actually:

Both 03-05 & 06-08 front calipers are 2 pistons, rears are 1 piston. 09+ are 4 piston fronts, 2 piston rears.. The 4 pot caliper is arranged such that there are two pistons on the front and two on the back. You probably can't differentiate the 2 pot front and 1 pot rears on the 1st gens though since it'll look like 1 piston from the front either way.

The only difference between 03-05 and 06-08 is that the front rotors are thicker (to overcome the warping issue) and the calipers are beefier (more metal).

I don't think we have 2 piston set ups in the front bro..^^ I did a brake change and I only saw one piston.. UNLESS i was completely blind or something lol
