our bulbs and projectors are sealed inside the headlights. so no water issues

If you put a price of cardboard on the socket, yes you are looking for water intrusion.

the cardboard was for testing depth purposes. the wire is for the finish result and acts as a spacer

the rear of that bulb, and even the igniter that connects to it is still fully encapsulated by the headlight housing and is within the housing and under a sealed weather tight cover, so no matter what you did there, there is no chance of it affecting water intrusion in any way.

Can't open the link on my phone but I have a projector lens spacer and heat shield adjusted for optimal cut off and color.

Result is amazing when light is projected onto a garage door or equilivant.
