Any Houston FXers?

Didn't see this thread till just now - would have liked to meet.

What work was SGP doing for you?

I want to get my transmission done at SGP - valve body upgrade, torque converter and cooling. Any experience with that? Anybody I should talk to at SGP besides Mark?

There are around 5-6 from Houston alone but it seems that myself, Jumbo, and Fireball, are the only consistently active members. Sucks!!!!
 
Everyone beware of SGP! My buddies 350z was built by them and the engine blew after one day of driving...I have heard a lot of bad things about that shop.
 
+1. I've heard a couple of bad things about them.. quality and prices..
I don't have any personal experience with them however.
 
They were known as a really good shop back in the day. Things got bad recently, but I don't know if it's been straightened out. I think Katrina/Rita really affected them too.
 
I talked to SGP about a month after the hurricane and they were hurting bad. Even before that, I heard they had some quality issues. But as far as I know they are the only place in Houston that has experience with the VQ35DE and our transmission. If you look at their website, they have a TON of cars done. No doubt bad news spreads like wildfire, but the problem is that Houston doesn't have a lot of shops - that I know about.

There is also Secret Services - building a good reputation for itself, but not much 350/FX/G35 experience.

I'm still looking for a local transmission shop - a place that can do a torque converter, valve body upgrade and cooling. It's the last major mod before I try to go Turbo. If any of you guys know some local places I can check out - I'd be much obliged!
