My wife's 05 dash bubbled so we took it to dealer where we learned it was 2 months out of warranty and Infiniti customer service said they didn't care about our problem - almost a quote.

Has anyone found any aftermarket dash covers or other solutions for our problems?

I sure would appreciate any help or recommendations. Thanks!

In this case I would recommend trying another dealer. They may be more receptive to a good will warranty fix if you are telling them that you are looking for a new dealer to do the services on your FX. I would recommend showing up with a box of doughnuts for the techs, a few kind words and maybe even hinting at promising a full "10" review on their customer survey.

The dealer had a good attitude but Infiniti customer service took a hard line and basically said it sucks to be us.

Has anyone found a decent cover or overlay?

Even if your initial dealer was nice about it, another dealer may just do the warranty swap no questions asked. Doesn't hurt to check.

If you're out of warranty, this is probably the best option.

No one makes a decent cover that I've seen. And I'm not sure if Nissan just uses low quality materials, but a few days ago on the local news they had someone who is trying to get a recall started because the dash on his Altima is melting. Not bubbling, but melting and it's shiny and greasy and leaves a residue. According to the story, there have been dozens of cases reported, but not enough to trigger a safety recall and Nissan basically says nothing is wrong.

Thanks Shadow. I'll check it out.

Thanks Shadow. I'll check it out.

Just hit that link. Shows him pulling the dash but nothing else. Am I missing the repair or just replace it?
