Another new guy from Chi! Excited about my '08 FX35

Hey guys-

Just moved to Chicago by way of Minnesota, originally from Miami (went to the U- any alum?)

Just bought a 2008 FX35 AWD w/ 70k miles. Took it for a prepurchase, the mechanic was shocked at how good in condition it was and it drove just as well as the 2010 models I was driving at the Infiniti dealerships. I am STOKED. Have wanted this car for awhile....

I'm a newbie to high performance cars so ANY tips on maintenance, upkeep, etc. is very welcomes and appreciated. Even basic things. I just want to baby the hell out of this thing because it runs perfectly.

Also interested in getting some mod advice like some basic must-haves for the FX35.

Ah, Elite Motors I know the owner of the Service Shop very good guy. I think that's where Andrew bought his Copper FX45.

Welcome to Chicago and IS! I bought my FX from Elite Motors too. I had a trade in and it was a horrible experience with those guys. But my situation was an odd one, not usual trade in terms. Have a great time here!

Welcome to IS! Nice to see another Chicago guy! You are in a good place to be an FX owner.

Suggest lowering it and maybe an exhaust if you have interest in that.
 
Welcome to the scene fellow illinoisian. Try to make the meet next Saturday should be an epic time and turnout. Lots to see in the iS community.

If you dont mind me asking- what was your bad experience? I had read a realllllly mixed bag of reviews and some of them were really bad so I was really skeptical when I went over. I was bracing for the worst but they were really great. Craig was the only sales guy out of the 8-9 I had spoken to during that week that didn't pressure me into making a deal right then and there. I almost flinched when I said "I have to think about it" and he told me to take my time, no rush.

Also allowed me to go do a pre-purchase and the car checked out mint minus a few minor things (brakes/tires) that Elite ended up taking care of for me. My trade in was horrible too ( a mediocre condition Hyundai Santa Fe) and I got dinged on the trade in value but honestly, it was exactly the same value that Infiniti in Glencoe gave me.

Not to write a novel but I'm always interested in other's stories - they make me a more intelligent buyer!
