Jonas got the restaurant names and websites mixed up. Both restaurants are on the second floor on Archer Ave:
Phoenix is a bit farther west on Archer Ave. http://chinatownphoenix.com/aboutus.aspx
Cai is the one we had Dim Sum at on June meet, which is right across from the parking lot. http://caichicago.com/
Ming Hing is another options for Dim Sum. http://www.minghincuisine.com/

Thinking...
Cruise out to the Northwest suburbs after some light Dim Sum in one of the restaurants in Chinatown.
Mitsuwa (http://www.mitsuwa.com/tenpo/cica/eindex.html) for snack/lunch?
Photos and videos (still scouting for photo location out in the Northwest area)

I'm not too familiar with what's "new and in" in the Northwest suburbs these days. Anyone know of any cool spot for photos and videos?

I think it will really depend on how many FXs we get. 10+ is tough for anything anywhere near the city for all of us to really fit. A cruise should be considered to a destination that may work better for pictures and video?

But guess really depends on if videos are a bigger thing than scenic pictures...etc...

I guess we could leave it up to those who are actually traveling to come to the meet. Maybe they want shots with the city so could accommodate accordingly

Any hotel you guys recommend in the city?

Dave, last time we stayed in Chicago, we stayed at Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza. We happened to get a deal there and parking was included. I found the parking to be safe and I'm real fussy about where I park.
I would stay there again.

Said who! I have to ask the boss before hand if breakfast will be included. Dave, the Holiday Inn that Wayne mention is the deal in the City unless you want to spend more. Stay in the City if you haven't been here. There is much more to see and do in the City then out my me. :smile (2):

Whaaaaaat? You all Andy now? :smile (2):

^^^ Yes that's the one I meant, Karen and I stayed there for 3 nights, it's got great river views, we enjoyed the river tours near there, close to most things in the city, restaurants, shopping etc. We could walk to most places and it was good access to the L.
I may make it to this event but cannot commit right now.

Any hotel you guys recommend in the city?

Nice(not fancy) and not expensive hotel with free parking in the city(downtown area), unless you want to pay $40-$50 for parking a day.

that day there is an OK car event in suburbs too, if anyone is interested. We can check it out for a couple hours.
