Annual Midwest Spring/Fall Area Meet in Chicago

Hi everyone,

im new to IS. And I would love to attend a meet in September. I'm currently living in Colorado Springs CO. But will be in Chicago either late August definitely September.


I can give me cell if any one would like to text me with updates regarding a meet up.
 
Let's aim for September 14....really good date Ian. I like the idea of spreading out a 2 time annual meet as much as possible for numerous reasons, including getting different season shots as opposed to always just summer/spring pics.

We should start planning....last time we had 10-15 FXs and it was a pain in the ass with cops, getting split up and burning a lot of time in the process because of it, etc.

I'd also recommend a brand new spot....something other than planetarium area and the top of the garage pics....Maybe meet at the dim sum place first early (if possible not sure when they open) this way easy to get parking and get all the FXs together in a parking lot and then go west where there is less traffic. That would allow a cruise which seems like we were all really desiring and wasn't happening well in downtown to a place where we can take some terrific photographs. I'm not sure if I really like the Busse woods a few years ago...seems like we can do better scenery wise somewhere but not sure.

If we plan Saturday, that is great because then if it's a bad rain day, we can always fall back on a Sunday worse case scenario, but strive for Saturday.

Maybe a place where there will be lots of trees, etc because of the scenery that fall should bring.

Andy, would you be willing to be the official head coordinator of this event? these chicago meets are no joke anymore haha.

Wayne, are you going to be able to make the annual fall meet?
 
I agree with a location change. It's cool for pictures but having 10+ cars in the city is a pain. Lake shore drive always sounds fun but then there's traffic. I think we are all open to different location ideas.

Thanks for thinking of us Jonas, much appreciated, but I really can't commit to an exact date, because of everything going on around here at my place, such as my garage construction, company etc. Heck, I don't even think I'll get my spoiler on before winter.
 
No need an official coordinator. We all can pitch in on ideas and locations. Jonas, I do like your plan. So Dim Sum first thing in the morning. Dim Sum starts around 9:00am. Cruise out to the west suburbs Arlington Height for lunch at Mitsuwa for lunch. Of course a light Dim Sum in the morning for sure if we do lunch at Mitsuwa!

Dang hopefully you can make it Wayne, would def love to meet you and your wife and see your new 50 :)
