New to the forum and I want to add Android Auto/Carplay to my QX70 (with Nav). I am trying to decide between the Nifty City option, the Grom, or the Unavi system. I haven't found much in terms of feedback from owners. I'm close to eliminating the Grom based on some of the bugs I have heard about. I want something reliable and close to OEM.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for replying. Have you had any issues with it? And what made you pick it over the other?

Amazing! Great to hear, I am also checking NiftyCity unit myself. Do you maybe have rear screen in the car? If yes, how it behaves? Can you utilize different screens for playing different content YT,etc...? Thanks!

I don't have rear screens so wouldn't know.
The great thing about the nifty is I have had no connectivity issues whatsoever , connects solid every time.

Yeah, just enquired NiftyCity, output is the same so no separate output can be done on screens. Regarding connectivity it is pretty solid, I would agree. Have the same unit on my 370Z, working pretty much flawless.

They're having a promotion of 20% - 30% off. Do you guys know if it charge the phone while using the wire connection?

Yes, currently there is promotion going on, so good deals. Yes, it will charge the phone as well but I am not sure will it be very fast, I am using wireless Apple CarPlay and external charger plugged in the ciggarete lighter as you can get max amps during charging. In advanced module there are 3 separate USB ports for charging, USB Dongle LTE and external storage.

Does the sound quality any difference when connected using wire or wireless? Try to decide on the wireless add-on option.

Nope, sound quality has nothing to do with wired or wireless, as it is connected trough the integrated Bluetooth adapter of the NiftyCity unit from the phone and from NiftyCity it is going to RCA iPod interface in the armrest console or AUX input. Sound is much better and punchier, especially if you are using good audio source. Go freely with the wireless. I am as well audio enthusiast so can really tell you there is a difference. You can even have separate audio/video outputs... let's say using screen for Waze navigation and listen FM radio in the background by pressing AUX button.

Just to get you updated, installed NiftyCity wireless Apple CarPlay advanced module in my QX70. Working great, everything as expected. If anyone will need some help regarding the installation, feel free to ping me...

I am installing my NC CarPlay system this weekend. The cables seem long enough that it doesn’t need to be place behind AV. Did you place the system behind the AV unit or else where (behind glovebox or in glovebox)?

Actually it even cannot fit physically behind AV as there is separate electronic unit (actually not sure what it is used for) on top of AV. Great place to put it is above glovebox compartment.
For now I have placed in it the glovebox until I change my AC filter so then it will fit above glovebox. Great video showing that spot :
