Amp + Subwoofer combo

I've a $500 budget for an Amp + Subwoofer combo and I've these questions.

1. Which would be the best Amp + Subwoofer combo for my 2006FX35?
2. I've a DIY here in a post on this site. Does anyone know what I need to do if I need to retain the BOSE subwoofer also?

Thanks

Here's an option. It cost me just under $100 and a few hours of my precious weekend time. The difference is amazing, but obviously not on par with a "real" sub/amp install. I'd say it doubled the output of the stock sub, and that's a fairly conservative estimate.
If you want a more uniform response out of the low end, this is a great low $ mod. If you want to rattle your neighbors window frames, this one probably isn't for you.

There is a very detailed explanation of the wiring in the DIY at the end of my post. Here it is again:

FWIW, rather than cutting off the stock sub plug I spliced into the wires just before the plug. That way you can remove everything and plug in the stock sub if you need to reinstall the spare tire for some reason.

Here is a quick reference guide I made: (this is the connection inside the sub box that plugs into the stock amp)

Good luck!
