So in my obsessive and never ending hunt for a set of wheels for the FX I came back to a tried and true favorite, although I had never considered it for the FX until now. I'm looking at the 22" Anthracite American Racing Torq Thrust M's. I'm wondering if anyone on here has ever run a set or know anybody that has? I'll fire up Photoshop but i'd love to see them on a real FX. Maybe I'll be the guinea pig and take the plunge...any thoughts?

trainerken had a similar design by foose wheels in black but they were 20's I believe. But I agree with fxlr8, those wheels do not compliment a import car.

I had a set of 18's on my '67 Camaro for a few weeks before I sold it and they were bada** but I can see everyone's point, the design is a bit to retro for a newer import. I may just stick with my previous choice, the Spidero 5 in machined black. It's a bit narrow (9") but with a 20mm spacer it should look pretty sweet.

another member has similar design, just all black.

naww i wouldnt put those on an FX . they are more for like a muscle car or something but if you think they would look good and you like it go for it . lol .

I considered the Torque thrusts for myself and got much the same response.

Thing is, if you look at the styling of the torque thrust, it's curves mimic the FX styling cues. I think it works well on the FX - just going to be your job to make sure the wheels fit with the proper stance. Definitely get some photoshop renderings done so you can see how it looks!

I say go for it!

it's not that it looks very bad, but first impression people get when they look at it is that you got some mustang wheels to fit your FX. on 22's the spokes might look unnecessarily huge and fugly. but if you can color match it and get a red lip, it might better suit your eyes.

These are 22s

I agree about the shape, but another spoke or two might look better.

Thanks for the reference shot N2FX. The position almost perfectly matches a shot I took of my FX last night so I did a quick photoshop. I didn't fix the areas in between the spokes, I'm on the train going to work so I'll have to clean that up later. Personally, I'm diggin' it, I may have to take the plunge. The size is 22" x 9.5 with +38 offset so I'll probably end up running at least a 10mm spacer as well. Or would I need a 20mm to be flush? I'm going to be lowered on H&R's.

I was wrong, the offset is +30, so I'm almost positive I'll need a 20mm spacer for these to sit right. Also, I searched around the site for information on hub bore and couldn't find anything concrete. The hub bore on these is 70.64, does anyone know if that will work with our cars?

The wheels will fit. You'll need hub rings. The inner diameter of the ring should be 66.1 and the outer diameter will be 70.64 or less. Check eBay.

Edit: You might not even need hub rings.
