I followed up on a post by one of our other members. I contacted the supplier that Kevin Kao purchased his knobs from in Taiwan. They're $0.57 ea which sounds great, but as would be expected there's a small catch. There's a $30 bank charge which I presume has to do with facilitating international purchases...not sure. There's also a $20 handling fee for purchases less than $500 USD. And finally, they didn't provide shipping costs. A little math says at 4 knobs a set and spreading the handling and bank fees across 50 sets nets out to around $3.28/set plus shipping from Taiwan split 50 ways plus domestic shipping. Thoughts or interest? Otherwise, it appears using Kevin Kao's approach, if you can find a set of knobs you like that are 20mm diameter x 17mm tall knob with a 6mm hole that is flush with the base then you're home free.

I've seen the knobs and they look like they don't fill in the gap around the knob too well like GlobeCLK's stainless steel knobs that I purchased along time ago.

True...but if you take a look at the pics from Kevin Kao's post, he used a pretty novel approach using a clear plastic hose cut into a ring to sleeve the knob which filled in the gap and acted somewhat as a prism to take the glow a little farther up on the side of the knob. Hey, I'm just looking for options since the last stainless steel thing fell through.

Agreed. I was very disappointed when that fell through. Oh, well...whatcha gonna do? "Adapt, improvise, overcome!" - Clint Eastwood - Heartbreak Ridge.

How much are you willing to spend? You can get the JDM stainless knobs from the G sedan, but they are very expensive. I bought them for my 1G and they work and look fantastic, minus the high price I paid.

I guess I have to fall back to the tried and true if you have to ask how much something costs then you probably can't afford it. I don't know, I was probably looking to spend no more than about $50 - $60. If that's not ballpark, then I'll just have to figure out something else. Thanks for the info though.

High price considered where did you buy them from Andrew?

. . . I don't know, I was probably looking to spend no more than about $50 - $60. . .

Oreo, so 4 knobs would be 4x$.57+$30+$20+shipping, (= $52.28 plus shipping). The price looks like your expectation. I can't blame you for not ordering though. You'd want to take a shower after getting raped like that - just the spite factor. (Though these ordering practices are not out of the ordinary for China. You typically have to wire money and pay everything up front with fees)
Just curious though. What if the advertised flat price was $13 each and totaled $52 plus shipping. Might you be more interested then?

Or, maybe just buy 10 sets (40 knobs = $72.80 + ship) and sell 4 knobs for $10/set at your leisure?

I'm just thinking out loud here.

Well, there is a bit of principle about not wanting to pay a 25x markup for the set in misc fees before even getting to shipping costs....but, that wasn't my only motivation. I was looking to see if it was something other folks were interested in enough to take the lead in a group purchase in the spirit of club membership and all. I don't mind extra work a bit...but I also don't necessarily want to pick up some knobs nobody else has any interest in. That's why I was fishing. So far interest seems underwhelming, but I do appreciate your input.

The principle of the matter is going to be a tough something to swallow. I'm not much of a fan of the design or aluminum and I won't put them on my car, but I'll pledge my interest to the tune of $10. I'm there for ya! Maybe 8 others will jump on board.
