Revisiting my audio system since we'll have some cool changes coming.
I didn't start out looking to build out the whole thing, but with the new traffic nav systems I changed directions. Originally I was looking at the Pioneer systems cause they were all/mostly in one with decent options and you could display some vehicle data. I was told the Alpine nav is superior so if that's the main goal go with an Alpine system.
We did this in 2 phases this was phase 1.
IVA-D310 7" touchscreen motorized display, dual zone, pretty loaded unit except it is an 05 model. The 06 models have full speed ipod and some other stuff that are pretty cool.
NVE-N872A DVD/GPS system, seems pretty cool so far. First time actually owning a nav system so not sure what the usua complaints are. It does recalculate pretty quickly when I deviate. Will play wth it more to see what I hate about it.
KCA-420i Ipod adapter, now my ipod gets charged while it's in the vehicle. Pretty cool navigating the folders, will take some getting used to since I'm used to hitting the ipod for track control which is now being controlled by the headunit.
SIR-ALP10T Sir nav traffic and sat radio. Haven't activated it yet. Already unimpressed by Sirius customer support. May not even activate the radio side of it since they seem to have their heads up their asses about answering the phone.
Some pics.

Stupid tape hump, we may need to fabricate a new door to allow more angle control if needed. Still considering it but have been absolutely happy with the viewing angles so far.

Voice control button, have never used it since the touchscreen is easy and very intuitive.

Touchscreen control rules.

Rear cam picture. This is dusk.

Rear cam, they mounted it lower than I've seen others do, but oh well.

Ipod interrupt of the rear cam. The way everything works together is the best part so far.

Here are some photos at the gas station as I plotted my course to work.
Trip info screen. The speedo here compared to the dash is a little slow. not off by much below 50 but as it gets higher it gets to about 4-5mphs too slow. But that could also be it calculating the speed pulse.

Satellite info.

I'm was extreme happy happy with the ease of use and functionality of the components. At this point it was set to go aux into the oem head unit for sound. While this was ok, the dual volume control drove me crazy. A few months later we moved onto phase 2. New amps, subs, speakers.
