Im going to resurface my OEM rotor, and was gonna install AKEBONO pad,
but my dealer says, Its gonna squeez a lot, and will avoid my brake service warranty.

does any of you have Akebono pad with OEM rotor?

and whats the fair price for doing rotor resurface?
My dealer says,

$299 plus tax for front rotor resurface + front OEM pad

and

$180 plus tax for front rotor resurface only

thanks,

I have Akebono pro act on my commuter and I like it more than OEM since it leave less brake dust than OEM pads.

O forgot to add... if you can do the work yourself, you can get all 4 rotors (drilled & slotted) with front Akebono pads for $260.

Maybe you should look into DIY posted here. Brakes are probably one of the easiest thing you can DIY. I did the brake + rotor DIY before I did oil change.

Sorry guys, small correction after looking at my email. That's the price I paid for our mazda with akebono pads. Here is the FX price: I paid $240 for all 4 drilled & slotted from rotorpros. I paid $60 for akebono pro act after searching through the internet. I think I bought it from tirerack.com

Just a heads up guys.... I got in touch with RotorPros and got quoted 4 slotted rotors and posi quiet pads for $290 shipped. I guess I'm gonna pull the trigger so I will have my project to work on during the Xmas Holidays.

I'm have Akebono pads on all 4 oem rotors. I like them... no dust, no squeal. As for stopping power? I don't feel any difference from the oem pad. I cut my rotors at Pepboys for $12 each.
Brake pads change is the easiest. All you need is a 14 mm wrench and a 6" C-clamp. Of course jack and jack stands. Wow, the Stealer wanted $180 for cutting the rotors! That's insane.

ummm not heard a lot of good thing about posi quiet...or is it rotorpros!!! :confused.:

I just got a full set of rotorpros drilled and slotted rotors with the posi quiet premium HP pads for 280.00 to my door and I couldn't be more happy. It took a little while for the pads to mat to the rotors but other than that its all good. I may try different pads down the road but so far so good, as far as stopping they are maybe a little better than stock, IDK but no squeal, no fading, hardly no dust,no vibration, fast stopping. What more could you ask for? I will see how long they last but so far im pleased with the performance they provide. As far as rotorpro, you cant beat them for the price and they use centric premium rotor blanks.

I just ordered ACT905(rear) and ACT888(front) for $113 total with free shipping! Seems like a great deal...Ground shipping is going to take a while though as I am in NY and they ship from FL :(
