Akebono or Brembo

Where is a good place to find front used akebono or brembo calipers.. Also what kind of gas do you put in your fx

Check the g forums, might find some there but regardless it will still be expensive

As far as I know G Brembo won't fit the FX. I use 93 Octane only

Agreed with the comments above. In addition to the akebono bbk upgrade, even if you score a nice deal for the used calipers and rotors. You would still need the rear knuckles from the gen2 FX and tc6 ball-joints to make the rears complete. After all parts are accounted for, the price is not much in difference from La_FX35's bbk offer. Either way, good luck.

93octane used as well.

Soonster is right on. Akebono route not far from my deal :smile (2):

93 Octane all the way :good:

You can possibly have it by Friday :smile (2): and have it installed over the weekend. Whereas, the Akebono route will possibly takes two weeks at the lease!

I am fine with just doing the front for now. I only had the truck for a week and a half and I did top and bottom matching hids tinted front windows matching the rear led interior lights matching led driving lights and air intake next might be color match black trim still debating it but I have to paint the front bumper..

if only fronts , then the avg consumer will have to spend $900+.

I think the parts are what you'll need. They are on ebay or PM some of the iS vendors for a bundle pkg.
front calipers - ~$500 / pair
front rotors - ~$250 / pair
front pads - ~$100
front hardware kit - ~$50
*reused bolts
*reused brake lines
** make sure your oem/aftermarket wheels can clear the front bbk. oem wheels will require a 15+ mm spacer (18" & 20")

happy modding.

I think in the long run you are better off waiting for a complete kit. It will all match, look better and you will have less working trying to piece all these different bits together or converting them to get them to work. But its your decision. Most of us are recommending the best way to go, from our trials and tribulations of modding. As for gas, I use Shell V-Power 93 95% of the time and the occasional BP gas.

I would definitely try out the AP 6 piston front/4 piston rear calipers vrs the Akebonos as i recently did the akebono bbk upgrade and did notice the difference but not as much as I would of liked! Good luck!!

Honestly I just want the akebono or Brembo for the looks the oem calipers do the job.my fx isn't a race car. I had rotora bbk on my gs300 They worked good but looked great.

these would do, just for the looks and the savings are huge.

That's what I use and aside from having to re-glue them every so often...they look great!
