Akebono kits?

I might be upgrading my brakes soon to the akebono brakes instead of spending all the money on another set of JBT BBK again.

Have any of you got the rear ball joint adapters? Without those the rear cannot be retrofitted on a 1st gen.

Oscar you are good, the retro on a 2nd gen is completely bolt on.

Question is do I need to purchase the hardware that they sell with them? I know an Infiniti dealership from Cali sells the kit and also with the hardware.

I have on my FX35 06 Akebono sport 4 piston in front, and it's great. I want swap a rear caliper too but it's dosn't fit (akebono sport 2 piston) Is there anybody who do this ? All shops tell "Knuckle Upgrade for Rear Caliper fitment" but is that enought ? what about hub & axel ?

For the rears, yeah you need a special knuckle kit for it to fit... turbocad6 made a bunch and sold them all... I think he actually put the specs up so anyone could have it made, but you'll need to go to a custom CNC machinist to have it done...

Do you have that link I can’t find It i would go and get some made

What front pads are you using?
Changing your rears will do nothing to help your front wear. Nearly all of your stopping is done by the fronts.
Bigger brakes on rear is not even needed IMO. Rear OEM caliper and upgraded pad actually work quite well. I've only changed my fronts and have no wear issue . . with heavy brake use.

All job doing the fronts, I know that, but they consume too fast . I'm using oem new pads form qx70 2017 breaking is great, after 7000 I must buy a new front pads. In this set rear oem pads has forever lifetime :)
