Akebono BBK Install on FX35

I'm really wanting them. Only thing that worries me is all the problems people have with the OEM Akebono BBK. On the G37 forums people complain of noisy brakes, premature warping, etc. If I get them I'll probably go with some aftermarket pads and different brand of rotors like what the OP did.....hmmm
 
The stopping power is unbelievable. Better than any other car I've owned or test drove up to this date...it would be interesting to compare to rides like Ed's though.

Nice mod, this is next on my to-do list just dont want to spend 1g on the brakes i want a lil better deal, ill keep waitin until on comes across, also i hope they clear my rims i would have to find that out also.

i'm certain the gen1/gen2 FX can swap between G37S / 370Z / M37S / M56S oem BBK's:

front rotors - compatible
front calipers/pads - compatible
rear calipers/pads - compatible
rear rotors - NOT due to parking brake

I thought the OEM BBK's would fit us 2nd Gens without modifications or problems? I really want this but my warranty is holding me back.

I'm not sure to what extent & details it would affect the warranty but Kenny (da mayor) sez that it would. My concern is, i don't wanna be denied of the manufacturers warranty after they would claim(blame) that the after market part(s) caused the failure or early breakdown of parts or the vehicle itself.

So the front caliper will bolt right up to factory rotor/brake lines / etc? I can just get the loaded front brake calipers and call it a day (for now, until I get rears)?
 
I gotta get on this. Anyone with a fx50 upgrading their brakes and selling their akebonos? I just don't feel like dishing out over 1k for everything because that's what it seems like it'll be.. :(

Good, concise info, thanks for that. But I would like to clarify... If I have a BBK (say, f/r rotors and calipers by Rotora) for a G37, it would bolt right up to a gen1 FX? But I would only need rear rotors designed for the FX?

Yeah not a bad deal but I'm sure you'll still need a full set of pads and definitely rotors. I like the rotors that stop tech makes. I keep offering him $500 but he doesn't email me back lol.

If your talking about the front akebono it will not adapt to the 35s rotor but will be good with lines ect.
 
Looking good:top: one word of caution on the yellow color. When I did my Ksports in yellow (G2Paint) the color made dirt and brake dust stand out (always looked dirty). I was planning on repainting them black before I traded in the FX for the GTR.
 
What? I've been reading that the Akebonos should bolt right up to the 09+ FX35 rotors..are you saying that's not correct?
