Hi there Meme405!!! One year later! I hope you've had an advantageous one, I sure did. It took me a whole year to stumble onto your redundant reply, so I thought you'd appreciate some perspective. My QX70 still hasn't been modified further, half of the Accuair parts still in the box. Yet it's still loved intensely, looks and drives as new albeit with it's black trim, a sound deadened interior, epic exhaust, tune and being encased in Opticoat. Why you might wonder? Because you missed the point little fella; as well the entire
LONG TERM build forum thread (and my reply)...
"Cars are a passion, we all have our dreams and aspirations; but sometimes life gets in the way and slows our progress."
And rightly so, I'm a busy guy and it's still under its factory warranty, it's not going anywhere. It's a rare gem in this country and it always will be (due to the minimalist sales and imports), yet even now in 2017 with all of the Macan's, Cayenne's, GLE, GLC, GLS, X4, X5, X6, F-Pace, Range Rovers and Levante's that fill and saturate the roads (they're absolutely everywhere); It's still my comparatively humble redesignated 2013 FX50S that turns the most heads. It's the car of my dreams, I absolutely love it. And for that reason, it is INEVITABLE that I'll perform the modifications; but it'll be when I'm good and ready champ. Perhaps it's that passion that originally intimidated you and your forum members?
As for your statements;
: This forum was rude, offensive and dismissive.
: My car
was the basis for the "S-Design". It's not matter of if, or how, or why. I was simply in the right place at the right time, wherein the marketing department snapped photos of my absolutely flawlessly presented, murdered-out QX70; and the pictures quickly circulated internally (and to HQ) which equated to the "S design". Believe what you want champ. They saw my car and liked what they saw, and rightly so. I'm sorry that nobody listens to you or your friends though, maybe if you were a little more passionate about the brand they would have?
- "We know everything about these cars, way more than anyone on MCM. We simply set your expectations, explained the results you should expect for mods like your tune, exhaust, etc. and you didn’t like the truth so you fled."
You people offered nothing of value to me, nor did I ever seek your advice. But you are right, I didn't listen to you. Why? Because people lacking vision, ambition and determination aren't to be listened to. They're best to be ignored, I don't suffer nay sayers. And I especially don't listen to anyone who ever speaks the words "we know everything". Meanwhile..... My tune is perfect, the custom exhaust is absolutely flawless and the cars performance is EXACTLY in line with my original expectations.
Prime example of why you're best to be ignored..... Are you in the habit of disproving yourself?
"One of our members trying to make sense of your exaggerated numbers, sets you straight when you claimed 425hp at the wheels:"
- I originally claimed that I would make
425HP at the CRANK with my mods.
- First Dyno figures weren't displayed correctly...
- With the second dyno run (wherein only the curve was smoothed out) I produced "266.1kW (356.8HP) and 469.2Nm at the wheels. Adding the 18% Drive train loss = 313.9kW -
421.0HP / 553.6Nm at the crank. So pretty much the exact figures I'd stated since day one.
I never said
425HP at the wheels dumbass. So how exactly did one of your "knows everything" members set me straight? Oh that's right, I replied to that post of the MCM forum fairly bluntly. Seems it was your member who was set straight, as you just were too.
"But you bashing and generalizing this forum has left a really bad taste in my mouth towards you as a person, I firmly believe that you are the problem, not this forum considering nobody else has ever had any sort of problem with this forum like you."
With all due respect, the really bad taste is your mouth (and the original issue on this forum) is due to ignorance and a lack of ambition on your behalf. Here's the moral of the story.....
If a person has plans and ambitions that are beyond your own personal means to accomplish or even comprehend, trying to bring them down to your level is both counter-productive and highlights your own shortcomings.
It's INEVITABLE that at some point in the near future you'll read about someone in Australia who slapped two turbochargers, bags and a stand-alone hybridization system to his V8 QX70. When that happens, and it will; recall this moment and the behaviour of your forum members who "know everything".
"Meme" As in, joke? Very fitting handle!
Good luck to you!
