Aftermarket Front Axle Opinion

I replaced my front control arms over the weekend with OEM parts & found out I need to get the front axle done as well.

The front axle estimate cost is about $1,000 for both left and right. I would like to know if anyone would recommend a good aftermarket brand to go with?

Anyone who replace their axle with an aftermarket brand please share your positive or negative feedback.

I haven't been there but Chedman did a fair amount of suspension work at one time to his ride, can't remember if he got into the axles or not.
 
Nope. Ed didn't not replace the axles. As matter of fact, the control arms Ed bought still seating in my basement. I have not heard of anyone had to replace the axles. Mark, what were the symptoms to prompt for replacing the axles.

Leaking grease which turns into dripping oil as it warms up.
At first I thought it was excessive oil as I recently change motor oil, but my mechanic confirm this over the weekend when I change the control arms.
 
If the boot not rip, you can replace just the boots. One of the local member's boot slipped off for some reason. I use a hose clamp to secure it back on.

Oh be sure to cut the extra band off; otherwise it will rub the nearby part creating a scrapping noise.
 
I've used aftermarket parts on previous cars without issues. Even on relatively high power setups, I had a local shop that rebuilt axles so I used them. I think most cities/places have similar type shops.
 
Finding a local place that still does it is the hardest part. The job itself isn't hard to do, just messy.

I haven't had issues with fwd cars with aftermarket axles but I've heard the awd front axles make a world of difference. Many Subaru owners would agree. Not sure on the infiniti just yet.

Buy OEM used on eBay if u can.
