AeroBFA's Autumn Copper FX45 :: 2007 Infiniti FX45

Looks like thats not all he cut... his hand ouch!

Ya I saw that too...hopefully he didn't leave any blood stains in your engine bay :p Oh and btw that looks like a good fit with the strut bar, nice job!

Ouch!!!

Does the Stillen STB fit without cutting?

No, no, that cut was from an earlier accident, non-engine cover cutting related. He was very steady with the dremel tool. Yes, the Stillen STB does clear the cover because it angles upward. But Chris, Andrew and I had the discussion that the Stillen looks really wimpy in the engine bay. :tongue (2):

Haha, no my hand was bitten by the jack stand when I was working Chris (FX45Chicago) Brembo brake pads.

I received and installed my new LED license plate bulbs. These are so bright, I have never seen any LEDs like this before. They are so bright, they light up the entire license plate and up to five feet behind the bumper. They looked washed out in the pictures, but they are actually brighter in person and the license plate is crystal clear. The color of the LEDs is a pure white, no tinge of blue at all. These will definitely attract attention the road at night. These are direct replacement housings, all plug in play. I paid $45 for these on eBay. Pretty pricey, but well worth the price for the color and the output.

wow that is bright! Do you have a backup camera? I noticed when i swapped my license bulbs with v-led ones, that at first they were a little too strong and disrupted the camera's visibility

Yea I was going to ask about the backup camera too. Is it an improvement in visibility (at night) or is it too bright and disrupts the camera visibility.

Yeah, that's a bit much in my opinion. With the window tint on mine, if the camera was washed out, I'd be backing into all sorts of things.

Bright white is the new license plate tint!

The backup camera is not washed out at all. Its actually enhanced, much lighter and easier to see. Remember these are phone quality pictures too, so in person the LEDs and backup camera look so much better.

In a lighted parking lot. It almost looks like day time or I'm in a lighted parking garage. This pic is really amazing, looks like the parking lot is completely lit on the camera.

In a dark street, no lighting at all. So much better with these LEDs now.

With the help of Handy Andy again, tonight we were able to install the Injen M45 cold air intake retrofit for the FX45. Had to custom fabricate a bracket to fit, other than that install went very smoothly. Look is great and the sound is pretty amazing, especially on the highway. Here is the Injen thread for reference, I'll update it at a later time:

Nice! How did Andy modify that bracket? Did he cut weld in his garage?? Looks OEM... Nice job Andy.

Btw sent you an email, might want to add a bypass to avoid hydrolock in case you slam your FX again.

He just used a metal bracket with holes he had lying around and just modified it. What does he not do in his garage? :top:

Looks sweet Andrew, making some progress! Can't wait to see it in person.

I was actually wondering if you can help me out, Joe. Maybe I can buy a rubber boot from you to connect to the OEM intake at the end? Something nice to cover up the edge and clean it up a bit.

Switched the Injen air filter out to a much, much larger, open-ended design one from Amsoil today. Also had a hydroshield covering it too. The filter is so large, it barely fit down in the bumper well. It's definitely is rubbing on the wheel well liner. I also read somewhere that Injen uses Amsoil filters for their intakes too.
