Additional Takata Recall

It appears to be the same recall. I did search on my vin on NHTSA. Says this:

Remedy:
Infiniti is currently awaiting parts to remedy the affected vehicles. Infiniti will send you a second letter, when parts are available, asking you to bring your vehicle to an Infiniti retailer for the remedy at that time.

I tried to trade in my 2004 FX45 at the dealer and they offered dick. Said they can't resell until airbags are replaced and the backlog to get one from Taketa is lllooonnngggg.

And how is Taketa not just declaring bankruptcy?

How can I check if my FX is affected by the recall? It is a Canadian 2008 FX45 that was legally imported to the US. This said, my VIN does not appear in the US VIN website. Does anyone knows of the Canadian website where I can check if my car is affected?

I suggest for you to just call any Canadian Infiniti dealership near you and give them your VIN to run if there are any outstanding recall on your vehicle. At least in the US, any Infiniti dealership can run this check from the Infiniti database.

Thanks. The issue is that I live in the US and US dealerships will not show my VIN in the database.

I got a notification that my FX45 is part of the Takata recall. Dropped the car at the dealership this afternoon and got a free QX70 rental until it is fixed.

Where do you live, rammer? I've been told "timeline unknown" here in California.

I live in Detroit.

I was told the same thing, they said they should have a better answer on timing on Wednesday, and they told me that no one should sit in the passenger seat, but since the FX is our only vehicle and I take it to some client meetings, etc. that the seating limitations was really compromising my situation. The dealer gave me a free rental until it is fixed.

Im driving a 2017 Q70 for the moment. The interior on that thing is superb, compared to my 2008 FX45, but don't really care for the high revved V6 engine.

DOH! I kinda heard about this but never paid any attention... But looks like my FX is part of the recall...

They will ask you that no-one should ride in the front passenger seat. They should cover the rental of another vehicle while the dealership gets the part, or they should be able to give you a loaner.

Update

So I called last week to get the recall done. Dealer said that they only had a temporary fix avail and were doing that previously. According to Infiniti relations, the recall was so large, they only just received a permanent fix for bag, & it must be ordered for dealer using VIN. They will not have them in stock anywhere due to scarcity of parts. I have the part numbers. This is for an '05 FX, & I do not have any knowledge of cross compatibility.
So if you've had this done already, I suggest you reference the part number I have here, or make the call to dealer to run your VIN. This is the permanent fix

Yeah, I was stirred when I got a call from the dealer telling me that my "permanent" air bag fix was in. The dealer didn't even mention my previous (end of March) fix was "temporary" fix.
