Hey guys, so I'm looking to add an additional subwoofer to my Bose system in my 2005 Infiniti FX35. I found a sub in my garage that my dad used to have in his BMW which was already enclosed in a box and everything, but the only problem was he had used the amp for something else. After reading some DIY's I had thought it'd just be easier to go somewhere and buy the amp and get it all hooked up. Today I went to a local place see what they'd charge to sell me the amp and hook it all up and after explaining to the guy how I want to keep my the original sub (the one that's in the spare tire) and just add my JL Audio 12w0v2-4 sub he gave me a price of around $500... I'm not sure if that's a reasonable price for all I want or if the guy is ripping me off a bit considering I'm only 16 and he's probably thinking he could make easy money off me. So I had just told him my dad has an amp somewhere at home that I could probably use to really find out what he was charging for everything individually and this is what he said. (And yes, I do understand he's probably marking things up a bit as he has to make money somewhere)
250 watt Jl Audio mono amp: $200
Wires: $70
Labor: $160
Base controller: $30
So after thinking about it all, I honestly think I just want to do it myself. I enjoy doing stuff like this and I could save money at the same time! I saw some DIY's on adding new amps and subs, but didn't see anything really good on adding a new amp and sub while keeping Bose sub. Anyone know if there's a good write up to do such, or could anyone explain what I'd have to do? And if not I think I'd like to do one, but I'm not all sure on how to do it myself first

Thanks sooooo much!!!!! - Alex
