Adding a remote

I have a 2011 FX35. I want to add an additional remote. Understand I can have up to 4 of them programed to the vehicle and it has to be done at dealership level or a locksmith as the process is not a DIY deal. The key itself has no chip from what I understand and does not require any special handling other than getting it cut. I've got the part number and plan on buying them off one of the Infiniti Online places as it's much cheaper. The guy behind the parts counter says the part number is correct. Do I need to stay with the same FCC ID that's currently on the back of the other remotes? At no time have I been asked what that ID is. I'm just trying to avoid buying this and it not working when I make the appointment to have it programmed. Thanks

Yes in order for the remote to work with your current set, the FCC ID#s have to match.

Are they able to pull this info from the VIN? I've talked to the parts guy now three times and I'm sure he thinks PITA! Just trying to avoid driving the 25 miles only to be told the part is wrong.

I'd check with Rick@perryinfiniti on here. he is a member and might be able to give 100% answer.

Ordered them and they should be here early next week. My local guy was asking way over list price. He's over list on everything. not talking about a few cents either. It's serious coin. I can see why, nobody's in the showroom buying so that leaves service and parts to pick up the slack on profit. The back mat he wanted 120.00 for it. Got it for 42.00 from the dealer in Alexandria. Had to drive 50 miles round trip for it. I know I did not spend 78 bucks in fuel.
